I honestly don't see how conservatives can be pissed off about anything Monsanto (or any other major agri-business) does. The free market knows best. They've used their capital and influence to its fullest advantage. They run the FDA. They make as much money as possible with little or no thought to who or what they might harm in the process. It's capitalism brewed to perfection.
So it's okay when a liberal fucks things up? Monsanto will do more damage to this planet than any number of oil companies will do in 100 years. You should really research "Round Up" and understand that this enzyme doesn't degrade. It will stay in the soil, plants, humans animals for as long as they live. Have you heard of the "snow ball" effect? Eventually, the enzyme will build up so dramatically, that nothing will grow. Welcome the dead planet in a couple hundred years. Make sure to thank Obama.
Yes, I know all about Monsanto, GMOs and the like. We're on the same page there.
But this being Obama's fault? You cannot be serious. Obama keeping the status quo on the chemical industry's stranglehold on America's food system is one of my major gripes with him. But this has been happening for decades.
All I'm saying is that this is capitalism at its finest. All the free market worshipers around here can't complain. Monsanto is the perfect example of what happens when major industry has little or no regulation.
I thought the Democrats claim to fame is that their congress and presidency fights for the health and "well-being" of this planet? You may have a big point with Republicans supporting the oil companies; but it's no secrete. The Democrats cry out loud about pollution and harmful practices; yet allow this atrocity to still be in business?
Your champion is supposed to fight for all, not the ones that Republicans support.
Some clarification: I said conservatives, not Republicans. Most Democrats are conservatives. To me, Obama is a centrist sometimes and a conservative other times. And I'm not talking about cultural wedge issues like abortion or gay marriage. I'm talking about the methods of business and governance.
I disagree. I think if Obama was "centrist"; he would work both sides equally.
That is hardly the case. Its pretty obvious that there is an agenda and that agenda must rob from one side (rape more like it) and pour support on another.
This Monsanto issue is just a part of it. You want balance; than work both sides equally. You can't build Rome in a day, but you can damn well move it in the right direction. Set the fucking tone for the next in office and start a trend to give the planet back to nature.
I disagree on that definition of centrist. No matter the side of the politician, they have opportunities to work across the isle. Just because someone tiptoes between enacting conservative policies and enacting liberal policies doesn't speak to their (lack of) willingness to compromise.
I think you're thinking of all politics today. I don't see why shit on Obama specifically. Just look at the obstructionist Republicans he opposes. Or any other politician in recent memory...?
Also, no. Rape is probably not the best word to use in this situation.
"Giving our planet back to nature," while I enjoy the sentiment, is not going to happen at all, ever, with our current political structure. "Setting the tone" isn't going to do it.
If you don't love america then move back to San Francisco with all the other ***got ******s
