Yep. Which makes the prust hit which was worse and didn't even get a penalty during the game all the more ludicrous. Amazing to watch the 4 blind mice hurriedly gathering together and excitedly giving the motion that your out of the game to Moore. The NHL is a good league with pathetic officials who have no clue. I still say this is a 1 or 2 game max suspension.

There would be no reason for him to get anymore than two games in my opinion.

Agreed 100%. Almost identical hit as the Prust one. And Moore didn't break anyone's jaw. More than two would be ridiculous. But we've seen ridiculous suspensions before. (The Hagelin hit on Alfredsson anyone?)

Basically the same hit as Prust so expect him to get the same 2gm suspension. He did seem to raise his elbow in the follow through, while Prust i believe was all shoulder, which may get him an extra game.

On the fip side, Prust's hit cost Stepan a game and broke his jaw. This hit there was no injury. 2 seems fair, but who knows with the NHL discipline wise.

#nhl player security department is looking at an incident involving #canadiens Rene Bourque on Dorsett. And Dorsett headbutt too. #tvasports

I have a feeling Moore is going to end up with three games.

Is it a in person hearing or phone?

He SHOULD get 1-2 games but I bet he gets 3-4 the way things are going

Haven't seen the replay from different angles but it appears Moore used a lot of his elbow and if that's the case i think he gets 1 more game than Prust as he only used his shoulder. The fact that Stepan got hurt and Weise didn't shouldn't matter a whole lot as players can get hurt from clean hits and others don't get hurt from dirty hits.

It's the elbow to the head shots the NHL wants to get rid of, so if they determine Moore used his elbow he's gone 3gms for sure.

Nobody is reporting phone hearing so I would imagine it's in person. To me there would be zero logic in anymore than 2 games but this is the NHL.

Actually it does matter a lot 31. The NHL always quotes injury as a changer in suspension length. And it was reported last week that Prust was getting 1 game until it was reported Stepan broke his jaw, at which time it was upped to 2 games.

Now I am not saying I agree, but injury is a factor for sure when the NHL does these things.

I agree 100% Mess.

With that said, I am sure they will stand on some moral ground like second time in this series BS and try to give him 3 games instead.

We'll see.

It could be a blessing in disguise. Moore hasn't done anything anyway.

Anything more than a game would be a joke. Since it's us against Mtl, I expect 3-5. According to the league's own rule, the hit was not late. He also didn't change directions like Prust did to make the hit. No injury to Weise. No previous discipline for Moore. I couldn't find a good video to slow mo, but if the elbow hit the head, 1 game. If elbow hit his chest or if shoulder made contact first, should be only a fine. I think we all know Moore will get the screw job, but I like Diaz more than Moore anyway. Not a huge loss.

62. Have you even WATCHED the replay? look at Moore. He's skating one way, then cuts to the right to nail Weise. Probably 1 or 2 small steps to the right before making contact. If he had kept his current route he never comes in contact with Weise.

Easily a 2gm suspension, probably 3 depending on elbow.

I watched the replay. He lined him up, do doubt. Agreed, probably 1 or 2 steps to the right. Not a total left hand turn like Prust. Regardless, according to NHL rules with which we are all familiar now, not a late hit. .6 is late. Prust was .95 and Moore .5. Add that to the other things I said and 1 game would be appropriate if he hit him with elbow to the head, which I believe he did but not totally sure of.

I encourage you to look at the Prust hit again. If you do, you will likely realize Prust cut to his left even less than Moore cut to his right to make the hit. What made the hit happen was that Stepan cut to the right to avoid Vanek and into a direct path towards Prust, who basically had Stepan in his sights and easy to line up.

That's ok, Diaz will give them more offensively than Moore even would. They need the pp to help them tomorrow.

31, I did look again, and I agree Stepan cut to the right. That might have made it look a little worse, but Prust still clearly altered his course drastically to make the hit, as said by the league. This is not my point of contention. Let's say Prust and Moore both took the exact same path. By rule, Prust hit was late, Moore's was not. Also, as I said in another post, I froze a pretty clear video of the Prust hit at the point of contact. It was the chin. While Prust had his elbow tucked, he lifted his shoulder into Stepan's chin. I know Moore is going to be suspended, and he should be if it was elbow to head. With no injury to Weise and no priors for Moore, 1 game is fair.

Totally agree 71. I'm not a big Moore guy. I think they lose nothing defensively with Diaz and he actually looks to shoot.

So, Moores hearing was at 2:30pm est. why hasnt there been any announcement from the league ?

It's hindsight, but I would've liked to see him last night against his old team, he would've been comfortable playing up there. This move could make the difference, if the rest of the defense gets back to..playing defense.

Losing Moore is a blessing in disguise, he blows.

lol dam right, wtf did AV go back to him anyway, he's another softie, diaz is a tough kid who shoots and shoots and shoots again and plays with an edge... i guess AV never heard of a players retribution for them gettin rid of him
