More than Gasol?

I believe that the Nets got a better package than Memphis did for Gasol. If I remember correctly--and I may not--Memphis received two first round picks, the rights to Marc Gasol, Crittenden, and Kwame Brown.

well, I don't want to call anyone out, but there was some discussion at the time as to whether the Nets could possibly receive as much for Kidd as Memphis got--and in fact, may have ridiculed me for suggesting as much. You know who you are.

Devin Harris is far superior to anything Memphis got for Gasol.

I actually think Memphis got the better deal... We're stuck with Stackhouse's salary against the Cap even if we do buy him out. Plus the Lakers picks are probably going to be better than the Mavs. Also, Crittenton is a better prospect than Harris IMO. Especially with MWill here too.

Considering that the teams had extremely different goals in trading each player, I don't see how you can make the comparison the way you are trying to make it.

The Grizzlies opened up a bunch of cap space this summer and made themselves more attractive to potential buyers.

The Nets saved themselves some money, but not enough to do anything with and they didn't improve a team that can't decided if it wants to be a playoff team or a lottery team

I think Crittendon is trash, but I also think most people tend to underrate cap space as an asset.

With that said, I think we got a pretty nice haul for Kidd, and if the Stackhouse buyout isn't too bad we should be in pretty decent financial shape for the future.

Well, I'm basically thinking from a Cap space perspective. We won't be able to go for any FAs this year b/c of stackhouse's contract. I'm seriously hoping we keep him as he's an awesome 6th man for the team... Then we have the better deal, but if we are buying out stack as stated, than I prefer the grizz's deal.
