The Warriors, sources say, are not interested in absorbing the contract of Charlotte's very available Gerald Wallace, seeing little need for Wallace (and the four seasons left on his contract after this one at a cost of $38 million) when they have Corey Maggette and the soon-to-be-extended Stephen Jackson (For the record, I was indeed told on Friday that Jackson's contract extension is still coming sooner rather later.)

The Knicks continue to seriously covet Golden State's Al Harrington, but Charlotte, offering Wallace, won't work as a third-team facilitator. One source indicated that the Bobcats indeed have some interest in an Eddy Curry-for-Wallace swap, but taking on Wallace would run completely counter to New York's hopes (prayers?) of freeing up the salary-cap space to get into bidding for LeBron James and the rest of the amazing 2010 free-agent class.

The most consistent trade chatter these days, besides anything involving Harrington or Wallace, maintains that no team in circulation is more motivated to deal than Portland ... as long as you don't ask the Blazers for Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge or, yes, Greg Oden.

We need to trim the roster down, work your magic KP (Just don't deal Travis ;) )

We heard this same thing during the summer...and nothing happened (excluding the draft).

I don't mind keeping Trav as the backup PF, but if we can get a good deal for him, i don't mind trading him along with Sergio and Raef and evne Frye.

We know how this goes, if we are hearing rumors about Portland in trades, that means nothng is in the works.

The ONLY guy who should be untouchable in a trade outside of the Big 3 is Rudy Fernandez...He has shown himself to be a very valuable player IMO...

Now only if the rest of his teamates outside of Sergio would see that.....

The only reason I see why we're always mentioned in trade rumors is we have the young guys that teams want. Tough, they aren't getting them unless they give us a really good player to trim down our roster.

and Rudy!!!!!

I am sure we are active, but when dec 15ish come around i like to see this rotation and stick with it the rest of the year. Trade package includes: Sergio, Blake, Martell or Outlaw and Raef for a vet pg.

PG-TBA ?/Rudy
SG-Roy/Bayless
SF-Batum/Martell or Outlaw
PF-LMA/Frye
C-Oden/Pryz

If they trade Rudy they better get somebody GOOD. I mean GOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

The guy is very entertaining to say the least.

I will be so pissed if we trade Rudy. Serious, that would be a major bonehead move.

What if it brought back a legitimate all-star quality small forward or point guard in the process?

I'd hate to see Rudy go too, but for the right player (and I mean a DAMN good player!) KP's gotta do what he's gotta do. No?

KP would be trading away a player for whom the fans gathered at the airport to greet upon arrival, and whom the fans chant for when he gets his hands on the ball during a game. A player who has been compared favorably to other players who are indeed all-stars, while he's still at the beginning of his career.

He can definitely be traded. But he's gotta make damn sure he won't regret it afterward. Because nobody in this town will ever let him forget, unless it pays off with a title (and if Rudy wins titles with another team, more titles than Rudy won).

I fully agree with you ... and I would be loathe to see him go, but with Brandon being a two and Rudy being a two it definitely creates a weird situation where Nate is trying to see if he can put both on the floor at the same time with one or the other asked to play the one ... something Brandon has seemed OK at, but I would still be damned tempted if somebody like Derrick Rose was put on the table (no chance in hell), Tony Parker or one of another of the handful of relatively young, truly elite (or soon to be) point guards currently in the league.

If Rudy can help land us a Tony Parker or a young elite PG like him, you almost have to do it.

With the play of Batum and Rudy and knowing Webster will play as well as last year, I don't see why TO isn't expendable. He's a great trading chip that I see us potentially moving. Do you think he'll get that much better than what he is right now?
