Sad deal here...

Susan G Komen is a horrible organization.

I haven't kept up with them. Is it their specific process/concept you have issue with, or the organization itself?

Very little of the money people donate actually goes to research for a cure.

They also love to sue people for using "for the cure" in anything.

As many of you know, I've never had much faith in BLM, in and of itself, and the way they do "business". Stuff has been trickling out for awhile now.

I know, right? It’s almost as if BLM was infiltrated by Republicans in general and Mike Liddell in particular. Humans. Ya just can’t trust ‘em……..

Yeah, the sky is falling.

So, glad you have your finger on the pulse of the situation, sir. Please keep us posted moving forward.

Well, despite efforts from the Right.....this has NOTHING to do with the resignation of BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, Cuz she says so!!

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ors-step-down-movement-foundation/7485627002/

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors to step down from movement foundation

.......Cullors’ departure follows a massive surge in support and political influence in the U.S. and around the world for the BLM movement, which was established nearly eight years ago in response to injustice against Black Americans. The resignation also comes on the heels of controversy over the foundation’s finances and over Cullors’ personal wealth.

The 37-year-old activist said her resignation has been in the works for more than a year and has nothing to do with the personal attacks she has faced from far-right groups or any dissension within the movement.

“Those were right-wing attacks that tried to discredit my character, and I don’t operate off of what the right thinks about me,” Cullors said.

I dont need to watch that video to know that some people will hijack any movement for personal gain. Also other people will try to use them to discredit their entire movement. Neither situation is new or surprising.

I guess my thing has always been, what's being done about the root of this issue?

I prefer to support the the works of The Woodson Center, as opposed to some of the things BLM trots out. And, in your words, I hope some people won't attempt to hijack my views and efforts.

That's fine and all but as you have probably hear before, size matters. The bigger the movement the more people are involved, the more opportunities for issues. I mean people are people for all their good and bad qualities, it's kind of a package deal.

That's perfectly fine.

On somewhat of a different note, while in DC, my wife and I walked through Black Lives Matter Plaza. I believe this is a proactive, peaceful, productive, and positive way to get a message across. Good stuff.

LOLZ! This bullshit again.

You don't really add anything productive to this conversation. Never have, never will.

I have many times with you and won't read or look into anything that doesn't support your very wrong and narrow views.

The Woodson Center is an offshoot of the Heritage Foundation. We've already had this discussion. The Heritage Foundation is not a friend or supporter of the black community. We've also had this discussion.

The Heritage supported Trump's claim of widespread voter fraud and this sudden limiting of voting accessibility.

I've repeated shown you the legislative arm of BLM on a city and state level are proposing and actually making real change that benefits us all.

You won't discuss any of that. None of their proposals, none of the successes.

I've even said I don't agree with all of their ideas but it's a fair place to start and asked you if there is anything they're proposing that you might support. Crickets.

I'm willing to try and have these discussions with you again.

Let's try one that I think is a no-brainer.

Should all officers have body cams and should the public be allowed to video record the police?

https://www.joincampaignzero.org/film-the-police

BLM has introduced legislation on this in Illinois, Baltimore, and Colorado.

You've shown this stuff ad nauseum. This has NOTHING to do with the fact that BLM has done good AND bad things (see me recent post, above), and that the Woodson Center has, as well...DESPITE your efforts to paint them otherwise. The posts I've made in this thread are current.

I have no desire to go backwards with you on this, John. Save your keystrokes.

How can you start a thread talking about profiting from family grief without pointing fingers at MORTICIANS!!!!!!!

Republicans have supported the use of body cams. This should get approval by a wide margin in a bi partisan way. I'd like to know the delay.

Look, for the record, I'm not against BLM as a whole. I just don't believe they are the end-all to needed change. I alluded to the Woodson Foundation because I think they are doing a credible job of eliciting vision/change from within. That said, this is not an end-all approach, either. It's simply another approach. One that shouldn't be disregarded, bashed, nor squashed just because they come from a different place from that of BLM. Robert Woodson is a fine man with valiant intentions.

Anyway, here are a couple of links on the man, and what he's doing...

As for the Black Lives Matter movement, perhaps the stepping down of Patrisse Cullors will prove the be a good thing, while also enabling the movement to get back to the business/accountability of their original goals and intentions.

Say what you'd like, but it's all still relevant. I applaud Bob Woodson & Co. for taking issue with it all.
