You watch FOX news?
You know it's not really news, don't you?

I do not. I quit watching ALL news. This happened to come across my general news feed (CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc. are delivered that way, as well.). Does that make these latest revelations within the organization any less credible?

you don't watch fox news, yet you post fox news articles...

What's your point? I post news articles from many sources. Besides, what's that got to do with the content here? Are you denying there are issues going on within the ranks of the BLM organization?

you provide links to websites that have a known right lean.

All large, loosely knit organizations have dysfunction. It’s usually down to competing agendas. Look at how the Southern Baptists are going to war with each other right now. I’d LOVE to hear your take on that (fully expecting you to to bob, weave and dodge as is your habit). I’m not sure the word”compromise” is even in the dictionary anymore. We can cast blame for that in multiple directions but that doesn’t solve the problem. America has reached the “me, me, me” tipping point and it’s eventually going to destroy this country (hell, we’re already at least halfway there). But I think the frustration so many of us here have with many of your posts is that you only focus on an extremist groups of color, while giving a pass to white extremist groups (Antifa doesn’t count. We’re ALL down on those morons). Every organization has it’s issues. It’s all about how competing agendas politicize those issues. Shouting usually produces more results (mostly bad) than calm, reasoned discussion. So who wants to be calm and reasoned……? And anyway, like it or don’t, BLM has produced far more positive results for this country’s future than the Southern Baptist Conference or the Proud Boys. Those two organizations, along with their ilk are a ball and chain around the ankle of America and we aren’t going anywhere good until we deal with it. Just sayin’……..

ther are issues within the ranks of any organization there is. It’s why they have human resource depts. there’s fighting amongst the proud boys and huge issues within the ranks of the Catholic Church and the Republican Party but for some reason you’ve chosen to highlight a “black” organization to throw stones at. Not a good look. Try looking into white corruption and you usually post “the jury is still out on some white politicians criminal behavior. Parity is apparently not something you practice with your bookmarks

You've never seen my links I post from CNN, and such? Perhaps you need to pay a little more attention, Mr. Global Moderator. But, whatevahs.

You said it better than I did. Missed your post or I wouldn’t have repeated with mine

It's just that I doubt very many would have expected BLM to go down that path. They have been touted by many as, perhaps, the sole source for change/redemption, etc. Certainly not this type of internal activity. I hope they get things worked out. Millions are counting on them to lead.

Haven't paid attention to the SBC as we're not affiliated with them. At any rate, "man" screws things up all the time. The Bible has countless examples of that. It all comes back to Jesus. He's our one and only example. Cuz He said so.

Nothing wrong with link ABM posted. Here is a link saying something similar in the NYT.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/04/us/black-lives-matter.html

It just fits ABM's greater point in that it's better when white people run the groups for black people like the one he supports.

Bob Woodson is White? Candace Owens is White? Oh, I almost forgot, they're both uncle Toms. Besides, what's wrong with Blacks and Whites working together towards finding solutions? Gee, what a concept.

I knew I could count on you to join the festivities, at some point. You're cool like that. :cool:

OT but how is that boots on the ground mentoring of at risk black youth in Nashville going?....have you followed through with that community service you talked about back in the day?

The Woodson Group was started and funded by the Heritage Foundation. You don't get more white than that, lol.

If only Conservatives would actually follow the teachings of Jesus………too damn many of them use His words in order to get what they want for themselves and deny others. That isn’t exclusive to them of course, but if they feel the need to share The Word, then they should also be willing to hold themselves accountable and FOLLOW The word…….

Great question. That particular project is still in the works. That said, I do go downtown every Tuesday evening (rain or shine) and serve hot food to my many homeless buddies. Black, White, Hispanic, even some Asians in the mix. A veritable potpourri of skin color. There's also youth getting served, as well. It's a very fulfilling opportunity for me and I don't take it lightly.

As I mentioned, it's a mixture. Nothing wrong with that at all. Look at the face of the organization.

You're not affiliated with BLM either but they seem to have gotten your attention

Uhm, they've gotten the nation's attention if you hadn't noticed.

Not as much as Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene or Gaetz......but where's that thread about contention? I haven't read about BLMs infighting period in the news in comparison to Jan 6th...the convictions of insurrectionists or voter suppression in the south...you are being pretty selective in fishing for civil rights dirt....there are plenty of serious crimes on a daily basis to use your highlight marker for....big uptick in gun violence since people are starting to mingle in public again. You must have had serious issues with Muhammed Ali given his jail time and anger over govt treatment of black people and asians. If as you say you want to be part of the solution you should support BLM and their cause with every fiber of white privilege you enjoy. That's working across the aisle. It's your responsibility and mine to address corruption and bad behavior from our demographics first before judging the civil rights leadership this early into their protests of police brutality and racial profiling.

Got it. I'll be working on that. Have a nice day.

Kudos....my son and I worked with Gleaners delivering food to the elderly here before he went to OSU....he won first citizenship award at his high school and it helped him get a full ride to university....everyone in my family has worked with the disabled and handicapped for the last decade or so part time until I retired....my wife and son and I....glad to hear you walk that walk.
To me that is how you show faith in the world.

I do appreciate that. I know you and I have had our rounds, but I still believe our core values are closer than we may know. Cheers.

Yes because I don't waste my time watching news that isn't credible on the slimmest of chances that I might one day see something credible there. Even then, how do I know that it's credible?

Quite a while ago there was a study done on what highly successful people had in common. There were four:
1. Love of physical exercise;
2. Life long commitment to improving one's mental health;
3. A heightened sense of spirituality;
4. Helping others. This must be done purely voluntarily and professionally helping others does not count. Being a priest or a psychiatrist does not count. Mentoring counts, volunteering such as meals on wheels, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas, volunteering for the poor and destitute or homeless people counts. And so on.

No. 3 is not only for us religious types but also for the types such as Albert Einstein who saw all creation as being his god. I would say that the rapture gained from seeing the awe in the stars would count.

God bless you, and keep it up.
