Saw Macbeth with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard today. I've never read any shakespeare. Trying to understand Shakespeare with all the metaphors let alone through a Scottish accent was a bit taxing. I liked it, but if I ever watch it again I'll probably throw on the subtitles.

Watched Cloud Atlas last week. Anyone else seen it? Stars Tom Hanks and Halle Barry. Came out in 2012, but didn't have good marketing so didn't do well. Still, great cinematography and definitely worth seeing if you ask me.

Saw Creed today. It exceeded my expectations. Really like the actor that played Creeds son. Worth seeing in the theater. 8/10.

Have you seen Fruitvale Station? Same director (Ryan Coogler) as Creed and Michael B. Jordan stars in it as well. Really well done movie about the shooting of Oscar Grant. I also just saw it was announced today that Coogler is directing the Black Panther movie for Marvel Studios.

He was on the first season of The Wire and on Friday Night Lights as well. When I saw Fruitvale Station I didn't recognize him, but I knew I saw him somewhere before.

He's been in a bunch of things: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0430107/

I haven't. Might check it out though. Thx for the mention.

No problem. I don't know if you have Netflix but it's on there. And thanks for reminding me about Cloud Atlas, I've been meaning to watch it but I had forgotten about it.

Fo sho. My only gripe about Cloud Atlas is the makeup jobs, but you'll notice that immediately. Otherwise, awesome concept.

You know what else is another stupidly great movie? Pootie Tang

I'm not really even a fan of Loius CK's stand up. Would have never guessed he wrote and directed if I didn't know better.

I have a confession. I went to see Maze Runner: Scorch Trials at a second run theater. It was exactly what I expected. It had a dumb script, the plot devices were expedient, and the death scenes cheesy and you could guess what was going to happen with regularity. I knew what I was getting into and I didn't care. I like anything post apocalyptic. I like sitting in theaters. I like rainy days.

Just rented Trainwreck. Amy Schumer is so unlikeable that the movie was just mildly entertaining. Lebron was the best part for me and they barely used him.

I'd give it a 3 out of 10.

That was a weird movie, but I enjoyed it.

It can't be worse than 'The Pest' or 'Freddy Got Fingered'
Freddy got fingered is hilarious.

Where's your lebaron Freddy? #1 son

Gordie, all I want to do is stay and home.and suck your cock.

Look at my hooves! My hooves!

It's a classic bruh

Saw a couple of good documentaries on Netflix. One was Supermensh, a tongue in cheek, hilarious fluff film by Mike Myers on Alice Cooper's famous manager. Anybody who's been around the music business will love it. The other, and better one, is the Best Of Enemies, a contrasting study of the TV debate between Gore Vidal and William Buckley Jr, during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. It's an eye opening look at the nature of political discourse in the last half century and how both men were shaped by their times.

That was really good! There are a few music industry documentaries that are great on there.
If you like that one another good doc is Who Is Harry Nilsson? (And Why Is Everybody Talking About Him?) That might still be on Netflix. The Julien Temple Trilogy about English Punk Rock, The Filthy And The Fury, The Future Is Unwritten & Oil City Confidential should be required viewing for anybody that loves Rock and Roll. But I don't know if those are available on the Internet. Another great music doc is Be Here To Love Me, about Townes Van Zandt. But, that's a real heartbreaking one.... just like his music.

The Wrecking Crew is fucking awesome! You'll like it.

Muscle Shoales is also great!

Creed was excellent. The most like the first Rocky film, which I saw again recently and hadn't remembered what a gritty film it was. Stallone was excellent in this latest edition.

Just watched Mad Max Fury Road. It was alright, but no where near as good as it's IMDB rating makes it seem. I generally respect their top 250 list, but this was not a good enough movie to be #150 on that list imo.
