Your top movie ever?

Casablanca for me. Especially on the big screen you see how funny (among other things) it is.

I could pick a clear winner undisputed #1 tv show, but movies are different. It's hard for me to pick just one movie.

How do you define "top" and how do you personally approach the question? I ask myself if I could only watch one more movie the rest of my life what would it be...again tough choice. Shawshank is a great movie, probably the best I've ever seen, but I don't feel like that makes it my top movie.

I only saw Shawshank for the first time last month. What a fantastic movie.. Instantly in my top 10 for sure.

But I also don't think I can pick an absolute favorite movie. Rocky is probably the one I've seen the most, and I absolutely love it, but I still couldn't call it my favorite.

I might have to go with Blade Runner as one of my top favorites and Cinderella Man is right up there

What do you think about them making a Blade Runner 2? I like the people involved but I'm still skeptical.

Blade Runner is a classic. But even then I wonder if it is the top Harrison Ford movie. Indiana Jones/Star Wars are certainly stiff competition.

I own blade runner on blu ray and have only seen it once a while ago. I'd add that movie to my "movies you haven't seen in a while that you want to re watch" list.

I'm all for it...I read a lot of those novels before I saw the movie. Strange Days with Ralph Fiennes is another Phillip K Dick novel...another great movie

I'm often anxious when somebody takes a great movie and try's to make a sequel. Sometimes it's done well and you get a solid movie out of it. Other times it's The product of money grubbing writers/directors who end up messing it up big time.

I agree, but I don't think it's about the money for this director. Denis Villanueve is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors of today. I've loved all of his movies. Prisoners was one of my best theater experiences ever because I saw it without knowing anything about it and was blown away. Enemy was very thought provoking and I thought Sicario was a perfect thriller. He certainly knows how to create suspense and get great performances out of his actors.

I watched Room and Brooklyn in the last week, I've now seen all of the Best Picture nominees. Brooklyn was pretty good for a romance movie, which really just isn't my thing. Room was absolutely fantastic, it had the most intense scene from any movie I saw from last year and the performances from Brie Larson and the kid were phenomenal.

Does anyone else care about the Oscars or is it just me? I was thinking of making a prediction thread.. I probably won't though.

The Reverent!!!! Awesome!!! Who wouldn't want to see a bear tear a man apart??thReverent.jpg thReverent.jpg

Deadpool. Awesome. It's an adult superhero movie and in no way shape or form appropriate for kids but the comedy was great, the action fantastic and the story tell was pretty good.

Liked Room a lot, if you've seen it you know it about 50 percent of one part of the story and 50 of the other. I would have much preferred about 75-25. Hell, if they could have somehow started with the end and didn't let you figure out what happened until you watched the beginning it would have blown my mind.

Watched Creed today, liked it but it didn't blow my mind. The acting was good but it didn't wow me.

Saw The Witch last night. I still don't know what to make of it. During the movie, I was not sure if I liked it. It was a rather unique movie from a cinematography perspective. An interesting psychological thriller. However, most of you will not like it. Literally when the movie ended, the guy behind me shouted "That was the fucking stupidest movie I have ever seen!" Rage! Anyway, I decided I liked it because it was different.

I saw Zootopia a couple days ago and, no kidding, I think it's one of the finest movies ever made.

I'm gonna try to see it soon. It has 141 positive reviews and only 2 negative on Rotten Tomatoes. I haven't read those 2 negative reviews, so I've heard nothing but good things about it.

One of the first animated movies in a while that I've been really interested in seeing. I saw a trailer before a movie recently (Star Wars?) and thought it looked dyn-o-mite.

One of the finest ever made is a high compliment. Can you list some other movies you would put in that category?

This is like Gordon Ramsey listing Yoohoo, Big Macs and Twinkies as his favorite foods.

I'm glad Fonz asked. Cracked me up.

Has anyone seen city of God? It's on Netflix right now, I would definitely recommend it. It's about a kid growing up in the slums of Rio surrounded by gangs and violence.

Zootopia was fantastic. Definitely one of the best animated films I have ever seen. I can't find anything wrong with it.

Watched The Big Short last night. Took a few minutes to get started and then it was really good. Aggravating too.

The director of The Big Short is a big supporter of Bernie Sanders. I didn't know that at the time but when I walked out of the theater I said to my brother that there should have been an ad for Bernie at the end, since not allowing shit like that to happen is pretty much his primary focus.

If everyone watched the movie and there was a Bernie ad he'd win by a landslide.
