Movies you've seen recently and have enjoyed?

Invisible Man on Saturday night. Really enjoyed the first half, give it 8/10 ... 2nd half falls apart and goes cliche in too many ways 2/10. Overall about 5/10, which is what I expected after the trailer, but then I saw the good reviews and it might have skewed my viewpoint.

Rewatched Dazed and Confused this weekend and that movie has to be in my top 10 of rewatchable flicks. Doesn't matter how many times I've seen, or where I hop in to it, I can always watch to the end. It's not in my top 10 of favorite movies but can always watch it.

For a B level movie i enjoyed it as well as it brings me back to my 70's when i was dazed and confused. It had many future stars as well.

That is a recycled story of "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell.

I doubt I will watch the movie.

I was about 10 living in Springfield when that movie was shooting. I was going to be an extra in it but when Rob Reiner explained the scene to us (everyone throwing up at the pie eating contest), I decided to pass.

I knew the kid who threw up. I was friends with his brother.

Maybe. I don't like the idea of people hunting other people for fun. I also don't like that it villainizes the educated as well as liberals. But, satire is satire I guess.

Don't bother wasting your time, that flick is one of the most overrated movies I've ever seen. If you want a truly great movie, also filmed in Oregon, about kids coming of age and on an adventure, then go with Stand by Me.

The Seven Samurai.
About seven samurai who help a besieged village repel attacks by bandits.

The idea for the movie came up from a Japanese who wanted to emulate American Westerns. It is titled in Japanese, the Magnificent Seven. The title was changed after the American movie by the same title was released.The Japanese director of the Seven Samurai greatly admired the American Magnificent Seven.

Haven't see this movie in over 40 years. I think the older I get the more I appreciate it.

Speaking of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest, guess what prominent member of this forum jammed with not only Kesey in Kesey's famous psychedelic school bus but also with Wayne Garcia at the same time. That's right, the three of them jamming together. Cool, huh.

While Animal House was filmed at the University of Oregon, the scene of the horse dying on the roof actually came from an incident at Oregon State University where some students shot a horse dead on the roof of a dorm.

My wife is the same way.
The Seven Samurai was shown with subtitles so I watched and my wife busied herself with a steak dinner except the steak was cooked well done throughout the steak which meant I couldn't eat but about three or four small bites. Too bad, otherwise it would have been a great T-Bone with fried mushrooms and spinach with a splash of vinegar. She tried to get me to eat it with steak sauce but where I normally eat a bad steak with plenty of steak sauce I couldn't bring myself to even try.

My wife calls me in from my office last night and tell's me, she wants me to watch this movie (doc). When I asked what it is, she said Ron Artest, a bio on Ron Artest with JO, Kobie and few others, I wasnt really wanting to watch anything but I did watch it and thought it was pretty well done. It was on one of those premium channels, that we now get for free. Worth watching.

Watched Cadillac Records about Chicago Chess records...thought it was brilliant...Jeffrey Wright played a great Muddy Waters and Adrian Brody played Leonard Chess....Beyoncé played Etta James but she's way prettier than Etta ever was...
