I missed it. Anyone catch it?

Something to do with his lack of "participation" with the team. I think it had to do with him being in Indy, but not sure.

Thanks

I dont understand.. he was at whatever event during a game in the playoffs? Or they mean recently like last week?

It was written May 20 so I would assume over the weekend. I don't see what the bid deal would be.

Again, transparency. The MSP is a sad show and they have to play the Crapzano card to try and gain relevance.

Good for Oden, showing up early for Summer League proves how dedicated he is.

KP had made mention that Oden was to "stay in Portland" all summer to work on re-hab. That may have notjing to do with Oden's weekend activities, though. Other than, if I'm not mistaken, Oden was spotted taking part in some dance (video?) games? I thought they were talking about Indy, though.

I don't really care that Greg made yet another club/award appearance. That said, at some point, it would be nice to hear of him declining to attend until he accomplishes something other than making a funny ESPN commercial.

Fucking Oden, i thought he was gonna stay in portland and get his shit together....

Obviously the guy doesnt fucking care, its time the organization takes note of his childish behavior....he had enough time to relax the last 6 months

FUCKKKin oden

I don't care about that. Until I hear of him not putting in the time to properly rehab from his injury I don't give a shit where he is.

you and I dont agree much.. but we do here! :)

It could easily be that Oden had some scheduled off days in his rehab for whatever reasons. We don't know. And it's nothing for Oden to buy a plane ticket to Las Vegas which is about a 2-2.5 hour flight and go there for the weekend, and be back in 2-3 days.

Idk, I've gotten over obsessing about everything little thing he does. As long as I hear he's fine and on schedule to be ready for training camp I'm happy. If he's not, something will have had to go wrong because while I'm not a doctor, I don't think it's normal to be sidelined by a fractured patella for 10 months. Who knows, though.

Classic overreaction.

I'm sorry, but Greg Oden plays basketball for me and my entertainment. He has no right to have any kind of life outside of the gym. He must work every day, all day, in Portland, under the wathchful eye of his handlers. When he isn't working he must be locked in the tallest tower in the highest castle in the land, guarded by a fire breathing dragon. No soup for you Greg Oden! No soup for you!!

He's young and rich....if he wasn't out having fun he'd be wasting his life. If you want to sit here and say he can't have a life outside of basketball you are out of your fucking mind...As long as he comes to camp in shape I don't care if he lives at the Bunny Ranch for the summer....just come back healthy and ready to contribute next year.

My only question might be....was he doing something (physical) in LV which could have been a detriment to his rehab?

Chances are the thing he was "working out" in Vegas, shouldn't affect his "performance" on the basketball court. I hope.

Now if he's on that damn 'Dance Dance Revolution' again, or getting up off a couch sized for you and me, that could mean trouble.

So he went to Vegas for some fun. Who doesn't? What can't basketball players have fun too?

No. Once they win the title, they get 48 hrs of R&R (72, if it was a sweep). Other than that, they need to get their over-paid butts into the gym! :tsktsk:

You don't hear about Durant being in Vegas - he is already working hard on getting better for next season!

Not sure you actually believe anything you posted since you tossed in three "I'm just trying to provoke" smilies at the end, but if you do actually believe this: what makes someone overpaid? Making more than you? Making more than they need to survive? ;)

How about making more than Bayless (and Batum, while he was injured, for that matter).....who is constantly working on his game...physically or, at least, cerebrally.

Are you talking specifically about Oden? Because oldmagrouch used "they." Unless he was counting Oden's prodigious penis as a second person, he was widening it beyond Oden (to pro basketball players in general, was my guess).

And potential deserves higher pay. It's like any asset in the financial world: more perceived upside increases the cost of it, more perceived risk lowers the cost. Oden had, and has, much more perceived upside than Bayless or Batum. Production will obviously matter and his injuries have added risk, which will lower his next salary (compared to what he would have gotten minus the injuries).

I don't believe "work ethic" (real or perceived) should be the basis of pay, beyond how you feel it affects his upside. Not that I have any reason to believe Oden's work ethic is poor. But, for example, people believed Rasheed Wallace didn't work hard/hard enough. Maybe. I don't know. But even if so, with whatever work ethic he had, he produced what he did and should have been paid for his on-court results. Maybe he could have been even better (and earned even more money) had he worked harder. Maybe other players worked harder but, if they didn't produce as much, they shouldn't have been paid as much.

I'll work my butt off for an NBA team, but it won't get me a cent (rightly) since I won't produce anything in an NBA game.

The guy is 22 and a millionaire. Let him have some fun.

There are so many variables we don't know that it's asinine to jump to conclusions.

As long as he is ready for training camp he can do as he pleases.

The Blazers took a risk selecting Oden #1. I would just hope that, in light of all the injuries, Greg is devoting a reasonable amount of time towards re-habbing himself. I was very impressed upon hearing that Batum spent a large amount of his injury-off-time studying various players he'd eventually have to face (Dirk Nowitzki comes to mind) so that he would be ready when called upon. I wouldn't expect any less from Greg. :)

Your only mistake was giving one fuck what Chode In Portland, Dwight Jaynes and that other moron had to say about the Blazers.

I think everybody is missing the point here. At least Greg isn't so bored he is taking pictures of himself and sending them out on the internet.:devilwink:
