My guess is money...and a war chest for the next election of juicy ammo. They didn't want an impeachment trial for a guy who will probably be gone in a year and change..they want to fight the battle on their terms. Pelosi as much as said it's a waste of money and time to take him to task at this point.

An interesting question, I think, is why the Mueller investigation ended this week, rather than some other week in the past or the future.

The last indictment was Roger Stone, two months ago, and that wasn't exactly a huge deal. Stone is a medium-small fish.

Soon I think, we will be into the investigation of how the Obama administration began the investigation of a Presidential Candidate during the campaign, for the first time in our history. How they abused the fisa process to aid them. The inappropriate outing of Trump people. In other words, the real crimes will soon be under investigation.

Oh i don't know. Maybe trump can open up Bengahzi again or Hillary's emails. Don't recall you ever whining during those worthless investigations that had ZERO indictments .

PS collusion isn't even in the criminal code.

Existence of evidence doesn't necessarily imply enough evidence for criminal charges.
Mueller has whatever Schiff has - the transcripts were sent to Mueller earlier this year.

I said nothing about Mueller...he's done his job..I said Congress will withhold the attack dogs until election time..Pelosi made this decision...Congress is who Trump has to face, not Mueller...Mueller's investigation turned up dirt on a couple of dems as well as team Trump. The GOP had so much dirt on the Clinton's that they didn't even have to try much to make Hillary look bad last election...this time the tables will have turned in my view...and Mueller has been a lifelong Republican....if you haven't noticed many lifelong republicans are sick of Trump...he's gutted his crossover vote this time around as well as many of his southern fundamentalist type voters.

Not sure about the Southern fundamentalists. My Alabama fundamentalist aunt is a solid Trump supporter. As she goes so goes all my multitude of cousins in Alabama and Georgia as well as my two remaining aunts in Alabama.

Politics as sports rivalries is the problem in this country...we need team USA not the Lakers and Yankees...partisan quagmire is what we've been dealing with my entire life. Not every disgruntled voter is living in a commune with a drum circle avoiding vaccinations and spouting revolutions against the evils of capitalism....that's the caricature of the left that seems to be the go to insult. I specifically said Pelosi made the call here and Congress is who Trump has to answer to...not Mueller. Trump wouldn't even meet with Mueller and insulted him throughout the process...which in itself was a classless move by him...the special investigation was to collect information about the Russians involvement with the last campaign and to interview relevant people concerning it...while doing this corruption was exposed....money laundering, tax evasion and failure to register as an agent for a foreign country. Trump's problems are with New York State....emoulments clause problems, obstruction and possibly perjury or witness tampering...these he can be held accountable for after leaving office without impeaching him now. Throw away the goalposts..
