I'm now (finally!) ready to join the smart phone nation!

Any suggestions/recommendations on plans/deals out there?

Thanks!

Iphone its probably the easiest. Verizon is probably the best but expensive

DO NOT GET BLACKBERRY!

I'm shooting for a Galaxy Note II. Bad-asser than bad-ass.

As for carriers, I'm mostly happy with Sprint, I've been with them for years and they're usually very reasonable and pleasant to deal with, both on the phone (almost always little to no accent) and in the Sprint stores.

I have an iPhone from AT&T over on Broadway by Lloyd Center. The only place I can't get a signal...... Manhattan and Denver. I love it. You can get an iPhone 4 there for free.....4S for $99 and a 5 for $199. My man Hunter will take care of you!

Yes, but what about the phone?

Kidding aside.... those are the same prices I see pretty much anywhere that sells AT&T.

I have a Samsung GS3 with TMobile. Excellent service everywhere I've been surprisingly. Phone is amazing (Like it better than the iphone 5s that I played with) but a bit brittle. Get a good shock-absorbing case and screen protector, and you're good to go.

But will every other place "take care of you" like Hunter?

Buy the Nexus 4! Oh wait, you CANT. That's the phone I'm waiting on. Hopefully it shows up in the Google Play store soon. $350 for 16gb unlocked and off contract. Can't beat that (except the whole, everyone's been out of stock since the beginning of December thing).

Ya, I wasn't saying they were special deals, just letting him know what AT&T was offering.

Sounds cool! I'd go iPhone, but haven't seen any deals on one....not that I've checked around all that much.

I write mobile phone software for a living. I have to use both, and I carry an iPhone. I just don't get why people like the Android - it's cheap and the software isn't very good.

The other guys give you the razor and rip you off for the blades.

I travel around the Portland metro area extensively and am ALWAYS dropping calls with T-Mobile. I'm ready to fire them!! Is there a way to find out if Sprint's coverage will fare well?

BTW, Thanks! I just may pull the trigger on this deal. :)

That's very interesting. :)

So, I suppose the process is...sign up with the new service (Sprint) and they'll then engage my current phone number, then close the old (T-Mobile) account at that same time for me?

correct. I switched last year from tmobile to sprint, they handled everything in the store.

Pulling the trigger right now.....on-line...with a tech right there (via chat) to walk me through the process. This is great!

why not do it at the store where you can get the phone right away?
