really. whats going to happen in the future with N. Korea. they have a crazy dictator who seems like he wants to rule the earth. im just afraid a nuclear war will break out.

Yeah, I think we are somewhere between the whole downplaying of the issue by the Americans and the North Korean media making war seem imminent. I believe it is a big issue, especially since they have known nuclear weapons AND ties to China. China scares the hell outa me

Knowing George Bush when he finally gets the troops out of Iraq, if that ever happens. He will give them a month off, and start another five year war with N. Korea.

Yea, I don't know why the gigantic US debt to China isn't more of a concern. I know right now the Chinese are willing to support the US economy, because their own economy is highly dependant on American consumer culture. But, you figure that at some point China's markets will fully develop and not be so producer-oriented. When that happens, watch out.

Nothing will happen yet.

The US needs to establish relations with China, without them you'd most likely lose.

Now its gonna be a war.. I guess. U.S. just needs to stop messing with everyone. Why does U.S. act like they own every country and can tell them what to do. It is not like North Korea is just gonna nuclear bomb us. Just leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. Bush stop trying to create wars. My message to Bush. "Dont start none, won't be none." If he doesnt try to start anything.. nothing is gonna happen. And even if a war occurs its bush's fault for starting it.

North Korea didn't stockpile nuclear weapons because of the US. America does create a lot of its own problems, but you're thinking way too simplistic.

umm.. North Korea tested 9 nuclear bombs. Each time U.S. told it not to do it. So why is U.S. telling them not to test it? Who is U.S.? Do they own the world? Now tell me who is messing with North Korea? And yes America does create its own problems. Going to Iraq.. Trying to mess with people there.. Who is starting mess with countries. Countries like Iran and North Korea could unite and easily defeat U.S.

So what prompted North Korea to get those weapons in the first place? The US had nothing to do with it. NK has been hostile to everyone except China and a few Islamic nations, since the end of the Korean War. They've been a threat to Japan and South Korea for a while now. The US, UN, any other country should be warning NK.

Of course the US creates its' own problems. But not everything that is wrong with the world stems from American foreign policy. Iraq needed to be messed with. I definitely disagree with the way the US went about it (it should have been been a UN-headed peacekeeping mission). But Hussein was committing genocide on the Kurdish population, and that needed to be addressed.

And, no. None of those countries could defeat the US. If you're going to be biased, at least have some sort of justification.

umm.. i really dont have time to argue with you but i have time to say a few things. the U.S. can be defeated by iran because they have all the nuclears and possibly north korea in my opinion.. well i really dont wanna argue.. because i am here to make friends not enemies.. so i wont argue

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">stupid question, but does anyone know how many nukes the US has?</div>

Enough to kill us all.

Thats great man, preach it brother! North korea must feel very threatened by the US and it's power to **** up other countries, thats probably why they've got all those weapons. i think US forces needed to take a step back about 10-15 years ago and ask themselves why they are doing this, better yet they should have done that before they went into vietnam, its the same thing man, any country different to there culture that they have no understanding of is apparently a threat to them so they get in there and blow it up. like vietnam like iraq and could well be like north korea, so what they have a dictator who knows nothing about the world or anyone in it, i think that sounds alot like you, Mr.Bush! why is it the US governments job to "liberate" people, they dont need liberating! there is nothing wrong with the people living in these countries anymore, it's you and there government system that makes there lives hell.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">stupid question, but does anyone know how many nukes the US has?</div>
I remember hearing that we have enough nukes to blow up the world 13 times.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">I remember hearing that we have enough nukes to blow up the world 13 times.</div>
that's great so even in the worst case scenario we would only use one thirteenth of our nukes - so the taxpayers paid for 12 planets worth of nuclear weapons for nothing when that money could have been spent on health care and schools.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">I remember hearing that we have enough nukes to blow up the world 13 times.</div>
if we do have that many nukes, why are we letting countries like north korea scare us? they should be scared of us

I think the media is balooning this into something bigger then it really is. I mean yes they have nuclear bombs, but it would just be there deathwish to even try to touch us. As stupid as there president is, hes not THAT stupid. I think its up to us, to decide what happens. Because if we just leave them alone, and dont attack them or pressure them, they wont do anything to us.

This is just another one of North Korea's plots to get attention, and gain something out of it by scaring other countrys. Ala, 1996, they threatened with missles and the USA gave them money. In 2000, they threatened again, and South Korea gave them food, etc.

And don`t we have more technology when it comes to nukes than any other country?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">And don`t we have more technology when it comes to nukes than any other country?</div>
Yea seriously. NK wouldnt try to touch us. ANd they know it.

They are one of the few countries in the world that still have a communist dictatorship and they are surrounded by rich countries who are turning capitalist or have been capitalist for sometime now. Even China has gotten a lot more capitalistic. But not the NK's. They are in massive poverty and South Korea and U.S. have had to give food or financial aid.

So naturally this whole Nuke thing is just a cry for attention to get money from us. We're still technically at war with them and they're just being a bunch of extortionists.

This is exactly right, good post Custodian. Many of the countries that test weapons, flaunt the weapons, and so forth are usually attempting to gain attention because of a failing market or some other problem that tends to involve money and/or government relations. North Korea know that if they were to even launch of a nuclear strike against a country like the US it would cause an economic disaster that would basically pit the every country that relies on US tourism and trades against the country.

How many rely on the US? A massive number that's all I can write. Remember that money is the most important thing to every country in the world, otherwise nobody would really care much about each other. This involves all food supplies in some portions of the world, because food isn't free is it? All in all the nuclear scare is just that, a scare tactic. It's the same thing as Global Warming. Look back in 1972 history and you'll find the scare about Global Cooling. Once people started to care less and less about it it went away and someone came up with something new to scare people into believing things that will make them spend money or performing an action.

The US is the leader in this tactic. We use war to hide the real problems our country is facing. Our economy is driven on debt, which has been purchased by other countries, mainly China.

With the increase in interest rates, a lot of people are falling behind on their payments. This is leading to foreclosures and I'd predict in the next month or two countries will stop purchasing our debt, and we will be in a serious recession.

We also have a steady decline in education. Here in SoCal the graduation rate was only 44% this past year. This means more than half the people did not graduate from high school. What's scary is the 44% isn't even the worst in the nation, it ranks 6th worst.

Study: Los Angeles 44 Percent Graduation Rate, Sixth Worst

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world, no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." Woodrow Wilson </div>

The US has been increasing the supply of US dollars at a rapid rate the past few years. This is a scary chart to see where our economy could be headed ... http://www.bullandbearwise.com/MoneySupply.asp

But of course. The US has been doing it for ages now. But there are European Union countries that are still in horrible debt these days as well. France for starters. They have constant problems with work and the government has brought the country into a 4 trillion dollar debt. Not sure about that in Euros but you can just imagine. It's one of the main reasons my girlfriend's family are thinking of leaving the country, as much as they don't want to. The culture is better, but with a possible problem that can send the country into poverty what else can some people do but flee from their government's constant problems? Good post about LA statistics, Shapecity. That is very sad to read but it is obvious. Illinois isn't far behind if not worse. You could look it up to confirm or deny I believe at wikipedia.

The problem is if we attack N. Korea Iran russia and china have their back in the war.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">^^I thought china hated North Korea, and i am not sure about russia</div>

Thats what one of my coworkers was telling me so im not sure. I know it seems weird but maybe true
