You gotta admit that trading Melo for Wallace and Crawchuck would actually be addition by subtraction. They may even fight for contention in the East. Wallace would be perfect against Miami Heat with Wallace guarding him. That team would be all "team defense" and Wallace doesn't really need coaching to play good D; he's crash man!

New York line up of: Lin, Crawchuck, Wallace, Amare and Chandler instantly becomes one of the best defensive starting 5's in the league IMO.

I said nothing about what make sense, I said that we should get a draft pick out of it because Phoenix gets the best player in the trade and New York would want a pick because they give up the best player.

New York gutted their entire team to get Carmelo Anthony. Even if it made sense basketball wise, they aren't going to make a trade that ships him out halfway into his second season.

You are probably right. That would admit failure and no GM is willing to do that.
