No they can’t!
At least not legally. Are you trying to say this kid cheated? Accusing someone of cheating used to be a serious matter.
Seriously get ahold of yourself. Making mindless accusations is a huge issue!

Good grief. Get a sense of humor, and maybe follow current events to get the reference.

Current events have people getting arrested and being convicted of a crime. I got the reference just fine.
The kid worked hard. Just don’t like people being off handed about that kind of effort.
There was little “Humorous “ about calling him a cheat.
Just my take on it. Apologies if it struck you wrong.

So watching the highlights of Little one thing that he brings to the table is a legit alley oop threat. Its one of my very very few areas of opportunities left for Lillard to get better at. I hope we can use Little in that manner. Possibly even see his value to allow us to get out in the open court and run more.

Im not disagreeing, but doesn't Layman have that too?

He's not good enough to see the floor, so no.
Im confused.

So the idea is that Little can help as an alley oop threat in the open court. My thought was Layman does that too.

Are you saying Layman doesnt see the floor well so he’s not an alley oop threat?

I wonder if how he was used at UNC effected his stats there. In all the pre-college stuff, he seems to be almost a point guard--bringing the ball up the court and either driving or distributing. At UNC, he was the backup power forward. Many of you out there are better critics than I am, but his handles in high school already look better than what I see out of Aminu or Harkless. I still think it will take him 1-2 years to get the offense and defensive schemes fluid enough to get major minutes, but his individual skills look solid.

This probably won't happen either, but sure wish that when he does get minutes that he is allowed to push the ball like our nemesis (Draymon) because he seems to have the handles and skills to push right through a defense.

He's saying Layman doesn't get minutes in big games unless Stotts absolutely has to play him.

Defensive Scheme get caught up on a pick while the big drops 10 feet, I think he can get it! heh. :D

I would love to know how much time Little devoted to his studies last year too. Being a smart kid, who obviously worked hard on his academics in HS, I wouldn't be surprised if he worked just as hard at UNC and maybe didn't devote as much concentration to basketball as those who might have had a proxy take classes for them. This will be the first time in his life where he can truly study basketball. Should be an interesting couple of years.

You ARE confused. Let me help you out. Layman is a fantastic alley oop threat. Predraft, he was the best.
But, it doesn't matter because his overall game, and especially 3 point shooting, is deficient. Hence,
he does not see the floor, hence his alley oops are moot.

tldr; Don't think of Jake Layman as actually on the team.

Yup I figured it out, or rather someone else did and then I figured it out heh. :):biglaugh:

Just back from annual family camp and catching up on all the draft hoopla I missed.
We've seen players like Little before, many very good college players and athlete's and many never pan out.
He looks flashy and athletic and if he can come in like #25JK and contribute on the D side and fast break, when Jerome was young that would be nice. Now if we can get Dame to push the ball up court more to get some of the forwards involved, bonus!
We still need trade to acquire a legit scoring foreword, just my opine.

Not sure Little has a better 3 than Jake as of now. Hope he can grab one quick.

Little will be fine from the 3, and by fine I mean better than Layman.
I think he has a better handle then Jake too. I think one of the most important things a floor spacer needs is the ability to put the ball on the floor and go around a defender. It slows down the close out of the defender, keeps them on their feet, it changes a lot.
