Here's my rundown on Little.

Strength and length stands out. Fluid pull up with good elevation. Very left handed and predictable off the bounce and struggles with his handle in traffic.

Not a great one foot leaper, but pretty explosive off two. Combines that with his strength and length to make an impact on the boards when he's aggressive. Should be a good finisher on cuts to the basket and in transition.

Still really learning to play on both ends. Game looked too fast for him on both ends for much of last year.

Don't love him as a prospect. IQ, Team defense, passing, shooting are all question marks. Dampens his role player potential so you are really betting on his tools and his shot making developing to the level that he can be a relatively efficient scorer on solid usage.

And while I'm down on his overall defense, he does have the potential to be somewhat versatile as an on-ball guy. Doesn't move that well laterally and can be a bit of a turnstile at times (gets out of his stance, gambles for steals), but if he can get into optimal shape and regain some of the fluidity I saw in HS, he should have a chance to guard 2-4 with some effectiveness.

Shorter / longer Wilson Chandler is the comparison I made early in the season and I'm sticking with it. Plays with a bit more passion than Wilson and obviously was more highly recruited so he may have more upside, but I'm not really sure.

Has a sliver of star scorer upside if he becomes as truly great tough shot maker, but in likelihood, I think he tops out as a rotation level / avg. starter type player. Think it takes him a while to get there to.

Rooting for him though.
Appreciate the analysis. Not sure I agree with it all (do some though) but I appreciate it all the same. The only thing I would say is an average starter at 25 is great. Most picks 25 or later don't last past their first NBA contract.

Edit: I now see that this was addressed already. Sorry.

Maybe this is nitpicking but a low/negative assist to turnover ratio doesn't mean he can't have good handles. In videos I've seen outside of UNC games he appears to have rather nice handles.
I’m betting better than Aminu. But only time will tell.

Intellectually, I know the kid dropped because he has big holes in his game and he will probably break our hearts. Getting excited about the 25th pick is silly.

Emotionally, I feel like we need a win. (specifically, something to balance out the Nurk injury and Kanter/Hood leaving)

I'm a coach. I have a player who takes plays off sometimes. Sometimes he GOES HARD.

I talk with him all the time (he's like my nephew) about staying engaged and not quitting on plays.

I question his motor because sometimes he's giving all of his effort and other times he seems disinterested or disengaged.

Yes you are making my point. You are at practice, you know him well. You would know what kind of motor he has.

He finished HS with a 4.2 GPA. His parents are both military.
It doesn't mean a lot because his parents in the military I seen a lot of military kids that got in a lot of trouble in my 20 years in. But doesn't look like he that type of kid though. Yes seen a lot good kids too.

Better handle (who doesn't)

Better mid-range game (Aminu is a terrible shooter from mid-range -- no I didn't look up stats. Feel free everyone.)

He will be as good or better from three (IMO), or at least more consistent (IMO)

He will be as good or better of a defender (Aminu is the best we have at the position, but still overrated)

He will be better at slashing and at attacking the basket (Aminu is a freaking carnival ride, if carnival rides were out of control and lost every third kid)

Rebounding? IDK. It seems to me that a lot of Aminu's rebounds are of the "three teammates around the ball and Aminu grabs it" variety.

Gary Trent Jr. was #9 last season. Why was that a number for Nassir Little to choose?
And what happens with Kent Bazemore who is #24, same as Anfernee Simons?

Trent switched to #2. Bazemore will take a different number unless Simons wants to change for some reason...? It ain't rocket surgery.

You see a lot of black military kids get in trouble? Not me.
Who said there were black I didn't say what race they were in general. Matter in fact majority of them was white. Did you serve in the Military?

I did.

Not sure why you won't just answer the question. Why are you asking me about my military service?

I swear, bring up race and white folk get all flustered.

I just wonder didn't know there no reason. You know how non military people would assume because a kid has one or two parents in the military that there kids are angels that why brought it up. Thank you for your service.

There haven’t been a ton of great #9s, Thunder Dan, Rondo, Iggy and Tony Parker come to mind first and of course the best Blazer 9 of all time...Danny Ainge:)

I'm a Tennessee Titans fan and grew up idolizing Steve McNair so 9 was my favorite number as a kid. Might have to grab a Little jersey! It's been a while since I bought one anyway.

As a Duck fan Ive watched a lot of Titans football the last few years. Mariota’s not durable enough and turns it over too much, also the front office there is a complete mess. Every year a new OC its like a 101 course in how to screw up a young qb.
