Nassir Little (3 Viewers)

He’s a below average forward right now but he has a bright future. Nice pick.

I honestly don’t remember Collins first nba games. I do know what a front line of Little, Collins, and Nurk would be tho!!!
Wow in all this doom and gloom you just gave me a little shot of hope for the future. That front line could be amazing in a couple years.

It's too fucking bad that just as Nassir Little is showing a little of what he can do, we add Carmelo Anthony. It's very disappointing.
We also saw some nice passing from Anfernee Simons against the Pelicans. It was kind of shocking how quickly he whipped the ball to Bazemore, I'm glad Bazemore caught the passes.
Simons seems to have as good or better (or maybe he's just more willing?) vision as Lillard and McCollum. Maybe he doesn't feel the pressure to score as much. Whatever it is, he could make the Blazers more dangerous on offense by being less predictable and quicker in execution. He does not seem to play favorites as to whom he's passing to (which is great if he's playing with all shooters.) Even when he got in a jam near the hoop, instead of taking a difficult contested shot, he made a un-panicked pass to Labissiere who missed a pretty easy mid-range shot.
You know nothing is stopping Stotts from playing Little at SF right? It might actually help our rebounding problem too if they went bigger.

Stotts could also put Rodney Hood at shooting guard instead of CJ. But this all makes too much sense for a team that needs much better defense to be where we want them competitive wise.

We could have Nurk, Collins, Little, Hood, and Lillard starting with CJ and Simons coming off the bench. I don't know why anyone would think having a small starting backcourt is ideal, all things being equal. Especially when Hood is shooting as well as McCollum. Of course so far this season he's shot way better.

Baby steps but Nassir has made as many threes this month as the previous two combined, in 18 fewer attempts. Would be great if he actually got more minutes instead of getting dicked around in favor of players like Biggie Swanigan.

The thing that separates Little is his ability to put the ball on the floor. He's got a great handle that is rarely used because Stotts 1. barely plays him and 2. wants him to spot up for 3s.

How about getting a coach who actually utilizes the talents of the players we have instead of making Evan Turner a 3 point shooter?

His game reminds me of rookie Aaron Gordon’s. Explosive, defensive versatility, crashes boards, energy/athletic points, inconsistent shot.

I like his ceiling a lot more. He's not at all a bad shooter already. Let him run havoc. He should have been in the rotation from the beginning.

It’s obvious he’s been working on his shot. Even his misses look better. I love what he does defensively. He got asked to do a lot last night and held his own. The buckets he gave up were more good plays by the rockets players than bad defense by little. I’m intrigued by a lineup that includes Little, Ariza and Trent. The perimeter defense looks much better with them.

Little looks lot better then what I seen last summer he has improved a lot since then. The thing I like about Little and Trent there active on D. There moving hands and moving there feet helping them majority of the time staying in front of there man.

Ma boy killing on the glas

I do love Little's activity and athleticism. Hope he gets more minutes to actually show what he can do. Stotts seems to have a love for players like Baze/Tolliver/Biggie that make you wonder if production really matters to him at times. :banghead2:

Little is getting way more minutes than we thought he would before the start of the season. The coaches seem to be doing a pretty good job at bringing him along. Sometimes when they play too early and struggle, they lose confidence. Plus they end up hitting that rookie wall. Lot of games left still but you have to be happy with the way he is progressing. That draft pick is looking good right now.

Would like to see Little as a late addition to the Slam Dunk contest at All Star break!

Little reminds me a bit of Mo Harkless but more consistently energized and aggressive.
Always liked Mo but he was lost as the 4/5 option and seemed to disappear.
Lilttle has that Cedric Ceballos motor for being active and around the rim, a Junk Yard Dog type player. Thats what Mo wasnt.

I like the Ceballos comp. In today's perimeter-oriented game, that would be a great player for Little to pattern himself after. There's feastin' to be done inside!

I agree the coaches must be doing some work. Improvement in him and Trent. Hoping Anf can just relax offensively and start doing better also.
