PORTLAND, Ore. -- Trail Blazer head coach Nate McMillan said he was happy to help lift spirits at a northwest Portland school where 7-year-old Kyron Horman was last seen.

McMillan and guard Brandon Roy dropped by Tuesday, the last day of school and spoke to about 300 cheering students, parents and teachers during a special assembly in the school auditorium.

At a Blazers practice Wednesday in Tualatin, McMillan said what part of what he told the students is private, but stated that he's always happy to help young people.

"My opportunity to talk to kids -- I always love that opportunity and it was just a short message before they go into the summer about keeping balance, not only working on education but exercising and playing hard on the field," he said.

Kyron was last seen June 4 after a morning science fair. More 40 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies joined the search to find the boy. The case was deemed a criminal investigation on Sunday.
