Knicks guard Nate Robinson is the defending slam dunk champion, but he may have to miss the event this weekend due to a strained groin.
"If he was hurt and it would hurt him to go into the dunk contest I would want to know that," Knicks president Donnie Walsh told the New York Daily News yesterday. "But normally it's a big honor to be invited. He's a defending champion. So I'd like to see him be able to go. But I also want to use him for the rest of the year. I think (him not wanting to hurt himself) shows responsibility to the team."
