That's a tough one. He does add some talent but he's has always struck me as a selfish player. I want to see us add quantity of talent, but preferably the right kind of talent.

How's that for a wishy-washy answer?

Selfish off the bench with our goons is GOOD. Selfish as a starter? Not so much. Therefore, I think Nate would be fine.

The last two years, his assists/36 have jumped significantly, and his assist rate is over 30%. It seems as though he's suddenly learned how to be a real live point guard.

We would do well to bring him in and give him a major role off the bench.

Very good point. And making the playoffs will entice free agents too.

Big name free agents don't come to small market teams though in less your team is really good. Thats the problem with building though free agent market. The Thunder got really lucky.

No one said anything about enticing big time free agents. Making the playoffs entices all free agents including the role player types that we want. a guy like Matt Barnes signs for nothing to play for the clips and dude would be our best bench player.

Really, So I guess we are banking on the all stars to come from the draft?

I'm not wanting big name free agents. I wanted a superstar through draft (possibly Lillard) and role playing vets. Big name free agents want big time money and the ball. We want role players that are defensive specialists, garbage men and shooters.

Lillard and lma are both all star talents. Batum could sneak in an all star berth someday too.

if we did blow our load on one fa, im sure pekovic or Jefferson would rather sign with a playoff team.

Compare our team to the warriors and grizzlies...whats the difference? Mostly depth. id gladly be in either of those teams spots in the leagur standings right now.

I still think Bob Whitsit built the best Blazers basketball team we have seen and he did it though trades and free agent market.

I've always liked Nate, maybe just because he plays well against the Blazers. Not sure why he bounces around the league so much like he's garbage.

Ironically, he's stats per minute look identical to Lillard's, including shooting the exact same %

Robinson has been coming off the bench at both G positions and starting some at PG with Hinrich hobbled by minor injuries. He's been streaky, but pretty much the Bulls best guard.

This is pretty much my impression of him as a Warrior. I see why hes passed around the league, but I also think hes not as bad a player as some think. If a team is starved for bench scoring and/or a backup 1 who can produce anything, he's a fine scrap heap 6th man. Can be awful at times, he can absolutely go off at times, but he was actually fairly steady in GS and seemed to have a great attitude.

I would rather have Delonte West, but Stotts would know best since he coached West in Dallas. But strictly from a talent standpoint, West is exactly what we need as our back up PG. The dude must really be messed up if no one will take him. I bet he winds up on a good team that is desperate after their starting PG gets injured.

As for Nate.......I find him irritating as hell. So he might as well be irritating for us.

So did we. We got the best player in the 2012 draft with the 6th pick. A future perennial All Star point guard. We also got the best player in the 2006 draft. Those are two cornerstone players. They just need a little bit of help.

We already have two, maybe 3, All Star level players. Aldridge is already in. Lillard soon. Batum not long after that if he continues to progress.

otherwise known as Matthews, Hickson, and Babbitt, the best in the business at what you just described

the pieces are there. We just need to let Lillard and Leonard develop for a year, get playoff experience, and make our move next season with just a little more depth at PG and C

And he would get us the Kenyons and Delontes. The really talented players other teams don't have the patience for. If you can play, come play for us. And Kenyon and Delonte can play.

Delonte/Sasha/Babbitt/Kenyon/Leonard is suddenly a very strong, versatile bench with a good mix of old and young.

Seriously adding Nate Robinson is just what we need coming off the bench. He can be our combo guard too; playing some minutes at SG if there is foul trouble or we need more quickness on our back-court.

I think the major issue with Deltonte is his criminal issue. Obviously for me; it's not that big of a deal; but I assume the whole "JailBlazer" montage may be in effect.
