JQuick's tweet:

Coach Nate McMillan has dropped his ban on head bands for new Blazer Gerald Wallace. "He wears one; it's not a big deal."

Wallace has long hair he needs one. Otherwise that would just get in your way all game long.

It's sad. The old Sarge would have put Wallace in a headlock and forcibly given him a buzzcut. He's lost his edge.

Mediocre Man: Nate has lost control of the team.

Actually just the opposite. I think it's great that Nate has stopped being such a tight ass when it comes to the offense and now the headbands.

Could be a lot worse.

George Steinbrenner wouldn't let his players even have facial hair, outside of a moustache.

I think it shows that Nate knows that for Wallace it isn't a fashion 'cool' thing to do, which iirc, was a big part of why he banned them in the first place.

Hehe, maybe the team will all start wearing them like they did back in the early 2000's, where everyone on the team BUT Sabonis wore a headband. that was funny shit.

There goes the season. You make exceptions for the new guy, everyone else gets upset and puts forth less effort to make a point to Nate.

:dunno:

Of course Nate will. Nobody tells Wallace what to do, looking at the photo I came up with his perfect nickname:

G, is what he looks like in that kit

lol I think Nate and the team have bigger things to worry about than headbands.

That's the best mix video I've seen of him.

Damn I'm stoked to have him on this team. It would've been nice to have the option to stick him on a hot scorer like Galinari last night.

If that video is accurate, he always blocks a shot every .89 of a second. Notice how he can't play without his headband? What's in it?

Stoked is the right word, mook. Myself and some other guys I know have been wanting the Blazers to get Wallace for years. I can't believe that day is here. He is such a perfect fit for what the team needs right now. This overachieving team just got much better.

I hope some of his aggressiveness will rub of onto Batum.

That would be great. I seriously think this is a good thing for Batum and I expect Crash, G-Force, G, or whatever people want to call him to make Nicolas a better player. Nico is still only 22, and has never really had a vet at his position to mentor him. Wallace by all accounts is a very grounded, focused dude. And strong. Maybe he will drag Nico into the weight room with him, LOL.

Nic said in his interview that he views Wallace as a role model and that he will learn from him. I also liked the comment Nic made about Wallace that he plays for 40 minutes and "never gets tired".

I wonder what Gerald thinks of his new team after watching the game courtside last night :)

Awesome. Simply awesome.

Not to be too much of a homer, but the dude has to be as stoked as I am, for his new team and his new fans.

Detlef in a headband was freaking hilarious. If I remember correctly, the game the entire team minus Sabas wore headbands was at NYK. And we got killed. The team never did it again, collectively. That's how I remember it, at least.
