it seems your opinion of it being a racial slur differs from the majority of Native Americans per the link i posted above?
I also found no link or article showing anything different than the results of the link i posted.
Just sayin.
You found nothing different from what you posted? And yet I googled "poll on redskins name", and got a refuting source 2 links down from a poll done the following year.

I'll also throw out again that, when a poster here questions what a black man, who was hunted down and murdered, was doing jogging in a neighborhood that wasn't his home neighborhood, fuck you and your takes on race. You've shown who you are. I thought you were thrown away with cup. bummer that's not the case.

Once again, "you're forgiven".

And nope, I'm not sleeping with the fishes like Cup....find a post that breaks the forum rules and the Mods with lay the hammer down...good luck with that.

Sorry, but you're not the ACME Judgement Company, nor a Mod.

So here we go.....now Native Americans DON'T find it offensive? This fucking place....

Are you a Native American ex Cop?

OMG...this place...some people disagree with me ! Oh the horror!

So what, if you google a certain way you can probably find links that appear to support both sides of this topic.
I'm sure following along with a conversation is difficult for you. So I suppose I'll help you out. Yes. Maybe you can. But the person I quoted said that they could not! Thus my link. Welcome back to the...conversation?

Don't need your "help", but thanks. Are you now my own personal stalker?...gee, I've never had one. Thank you so much, this is great !

Redskin is racist. It may not offend all native Americans but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s racist.

how or why it ever became the name of a sports franchise is beyond me

Crackers weren't mass slaughtered or enslaved. Don't try to change subject.

Reminds me of white people saying n word isn't racist because Black people use it among themselves.

Old white men feeling persecuted! "Why can't I say it?"

And do so.

This you?

Well yes it is...the very same day when the thread was created and nobody knew all the facts, including yourself. If you wanna continue to dredge up shit that was said 3 freaking years ago, why not post all of my comments in the thread, trying to clarify what I said, and why?

That's not the point, and I didn't change the subject, the other poster did. And sorry, but someone doesn't have to be slaughtered in order to be racially slighted/targeted. Your analogy is inaccurate and off the mark.

...looks like I have the S2 mafia after me now.

I have lived on a reservation for the last 8 years. It is an open res., which means the native American families can sell part or all of their assigned res., land to anyone. So I have many neighbors that are native Americans near my property.

Also over the many decades, I have had many encounters with various tribes in the PNW.

I am aware of issues they have. Some tribes more than others. But not once has any racest lables been mentioned. All their issues are centered around problems with the Fed govt.

If you want to research offensive lables our Fed government has assigned, research tribal names. Many of the 500 plus tribal names assigned to them are not their native names. And many are offensive.

Example.
One official Fed tribal name translates into English as "filthy water people". This name is used in public and seen in every city in the USA, over 500,000 times. Look it up, hint, the true native tribal name is "Ho-Chunk".

There are many more faulty tribal names, some are offensive.

Playing the daughter card? I'll let you slide, this time. But...

This does not improve your chances for a promotion. We all know you want to take your "moderator maintaining order talents" to the next level. Until you can stay on topic, and stop instigating chaos, you have no chance to be promoted out of the dog house to be a certified "trunk monkey".

Gotta love people trying to convince me what is offensive to me and other people, and what is not.

Regardless of how many people are offended, it is a racial slur used by colonialists and among different tribes.

Washington led the genocide of Native Americans. Then became home to a sports team named a racial slur against Native Americans.

It is improper and the name should not come back, IMO.

If the name were a universal term of honor and endearment it would have never been changed in the first place.

For example, we won't likely see a pro sports team named the Alabama Crackers any time soon...
