Not sure if this has been posted:

Here are the rules for team captains LeBron James (Eastern Conference) and Stephen Curry (West) to choose their rosters for the 2018 All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

* Starters (First Round): The eight players who, along with the two Captains, are the All-Star starters will be drafted in the first round (All-Star Roster).

* Reserves (Second Round): The fourteen players named as All-Star reserves, to be revealed on Jan. 23 (TNT, 7 p.m. ET), will be drafted, regardless of conference in the second round.

* James, as the overall vote leader, will pick first in the First Round. Curry will pick first in the Second Round. Picks will alternate until all players in that round have been selected.

* By the end of the draft, each captain will have a team of 12 — the captain himself and 11 teammates.

* The team rosters will be revealed on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. ET in a special one-hour edition of TNT NBA Tip-Off.

This is such a stupid idea. There is absolutely nothing to play for. I get that this game has sucked for a while, but at least at one time you played for conference pride. Now it's even more of a fucking joke. What moron came up with this format?

I agree. What is even the point?

That format is stupid....lebron is gonba pick Durant first watch

This isn't a live draft? Are players so precious?

What sense does it make to pick all stars based on east v. west, then mix up the teams regardless of conference? I mean seriously WTF? I know they don't want the east to get slaughtered, but if the teams are going to include players from both conferences, then pick the all star team regardless of conference. As far as changing how players are picked to be all stars, I've thought for a long time that each team should be represented by at least one player. I mean, I thought this ridiculous marketing exhibition was supposed to somehow increase fan interest. :dunno:

I think a better way to do it would be for the starters to be East/West as in the old system, and then have the reserves selected league-wide without respect to conference. The draft would only apply to the reserves. Keeps some of the conference element alive and avoids having better players in one conference being snubbed for lesser players in the other conference.

The All-Star rosters aren't big enough for this. Even if you increased each roster from 12 to 15 that would mean ONLY 1 player from each team could be chosen. Which might be cool to have Warrior fans whine about 3 of their 4 guys not getting in but also would be shitty if we ever had 2 guys who deserve to be in the game.

If would make a lot of sense if they applied that rule to the entirety of all-star weekend. Every team gets at least two guys in some event. Might be 3point, might be dunk, skills, rising stars...whatever. There should be enough slots available to make that possible.

For me, format is great, just if we could watch "draft" live.

I would do another change next year, put aside West and East All-Stars, just pick 24 best players in the league.
First off, welcome to our little forum. Always love seeing new blood joining. Don't let some of the "vets" give you a hard time. Some have been know to haze newer members if you can imagine that.
As far as the all star game, I would take it one step further and just eliminate the whole position thing. I don't need to see forwards in the game if there are better guards sitting at home.
Well hope you enjoy S2. Holler at The HCP if you have any questions. Hope to meet you at a future meet and greet! Have a good day.

Or, he will be smart and pick AD... get in AD's head for the week and convince him that Cleveland is where he belongs. Then AD goes to his GM and says "Cleveland or I'm holding out from playing" then on February 8th we find out New Orleans trades AD for Kevin Love, Crowder, the BKN pick and CLE pick.

Oh, and the Cavs win the title against the fuckbois that are the Warriors.

Since we'll never get AD without trading Dame, I'm completely on board with this.

So is there still going to be west and east jerseys? Is there two jerseys made for each player in case they land on the opposite team?

I hope Dame doesnt get picked last

Trash. Ugly Adonal FOYLE...
Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Boring? Yes. Ugly? No - too boring to be ugly. In fact, these are the LEAST ugly A-S jerseys I can recall. Just take a trip through memory lane: http://www.complex.com/style/2014/02/ranking-nba-all-star-jerseys-from-worst-looking-to-best/

And how on earth the "author" of that rated the '96 jalepeño jersey the best is beyond all comprehension! That and the '95 cactus are - hands down - the worst EVAR.

Disagree with opinions much? I'm glad you hate those more but I wasn't comparing the two. I was simply saying how ugly the 17'-18' ones are. Thanks tho...

The most interesting part of this whole draft will be seeing if James takes Love. I hope with lebrons last pick love and horford are left and James picks Horford....I also wish this scenerio was televised:)
