Wow.. what a load of shit..it's always been free in the past, wtf.

WORST part is that there are BLACKOUT RESTRICTIONS still, lol. So basically ONCE AGAIN, unless you have CSNNW, you're not gonna be able to even watch the blazers during summer league.. Dammit.. I really wanted to watch Bayless and some other blazers to make summer go by faster..

This summer is like the polar opposite of last years summer. Last year awesome SL with bayless MVP, all free, olympics, team usa gold, greg oden returning hype, etc. This blows..

I can't believe they'd make people pay to watch a league where like 80% aren't even gonna be in the NBA probably

Man, that's not right. It's a scrimmage game with mostly bad college players.

Well, now that the income stream from Yao is gone, Stern is getting desperate.

Imaginary summer league.

It's like paying to watch the D League. I'm sure some folks will have some streams online somewhere..

I saw that last night and almost pissed my self. Sorry, I'm not paying anything to watch Tyler Hansboro and Jeremy Richardson play ball. I wonder how many saps actually ponied up for that?

haha... the NBA charges a Summer League Pass. That's pretty funny..

I thought most of these games were on NBATV for free. None of you have mentioned NBATV so far.

that's just low, way to reward your dedicated fan base Stern.

Wow..that is complete BS.

I guess during a recession they have to find ways to make new money. I mean, the league is nearing bankruptcy, right?

This reminds me of when the Redskins charged fans to watch training camp scrimmages, something that every other team allowed for free.

I don't see the big deal. It costs money to broadcast games and if they think that they can make money by charging people to watch them online then more power to them.

I find it hard to believe many people will pay for the games, but maybe. I would definitely consider it. $15 is not that much and given how much I enjoy the games it's a better deal than a lot of entertainment options.

Ed O.

Meh. I'm sure someone will stream it.

take a valium. once you have relaxed, go to a bar and watch it with some other fans.

I caved and paid, and now it doesn't seem to be working! Is this just me?

It looks like they're charging because they couldn't get any advertisers to bill out for commercials.

that seems shortsighted. If they were smart, they'd promote free, p2p streams of summer league games on popular basketball forums and blogs. Get enough viewers and they might be able to attract advertisers next year.

Absolutely! Unfortunately, that would involve them using their brains and thinking in a creative way. Sadly that rarely happens when an organization is involved.
