NBA Draft picks thread (MERGED)

Seems like teams would rather take projects at the end of the first.. and wait to get the fringe late first-round guys in the second.

So pissed off right now..i like Pendergraph, but not when DeJaun Blair was available, total brain fart on his part..and we just gave away draft picks to take a dude who would be available in the 2nd round..if we dont do anything in free agency or make a lopsided trade, he needs to be on the hot seat

HAAAAAAAA!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Fucking funniest shit ever!!!!

IF Blair's knees are in terrible shape and/or teams don't believe he has a commitment to conditioning (neither of which I am claiming is true, but possible factors I can envision for his long fall down the draft), then he's probably a reasonable gamble in the mid-second round, but probably no more so than a typical mid-second rounder. Blair may have more ability than the average mid-second rounder, but if he's expected to miss lots of time, then that cancels out the talent disparity.

Haha, really? Because of a few second round picks?

You fail.

Amen, brother. I mean, what has Pritchard done for us LATELY?

Chris Wallace: "There's a buzz in town about the Grizzlies"
what buzz, the flies feeding on the rotting corpse of this crappy franchise?

Everyone needs to quit passing judgment on KP before they have a full picture of what exactly is going on.

Besides, Blair nor Pendergraph nor anyone else drafted has played in the league yet. Who knows if Blair will be a bust or not?

WAY to early to pass judgment on the guy who performed a few miracles for us over the last 3 years.

I heard that KP could have gotten Rubio for Channing Frye and a second round pick. He is a horrible GM for passing on that. Just horrible.

Bad year for cap space. FA are overrated this year and not worth what I am hearing they will demand. Hedo is a 6-8 mil player max. Mid level for A. Miller. Hope we are targeting a trade with our cap space or have one in place. In Sept our cap space will be gone once we extend Roy and Aldridge.

The Blazers will regret passing on DeJuan Blair twice in the 2nd round this year, just like they came to regret passing on Paul Millsap at 30, 31 and 45 in 2006. What makes it worse, is he went to San Antonio. The Spurs don't draft dumb. They know value when they see it, and Blair will be an important role player for them.

I'm very disappointed in this draft. I can't see anything we've done to address any of our needs. We drafted a European tweener who is years away from being NBA ready, got a third string center and an undersized, weak rebounding "power" forward. I can't see any of these guys contributing anything to the team in the coming season - if any of them even make the team (which is doubtful).

BNM

I can't decide if that assistant commissioner announcing the second round picks is geeky or scary. I'm leaning towards scary. Put a steak knife in his hand and I might piss myself.

Darko to the Knicks, lol. I'm surprised he wasn't booed more.

Well, the Griz just took a 2nd pick bust - so it makes sense for them to send their current 2nd pick bust somewhere else... no?
