NBA Finals back to 2-2-1-1-1?

It's not fair to the team with three games. It's tough to win three in a row.

I thought it was kind of cool to have a different format. Sounds like it all comes down to TV money as they think this will lead to more game 7's.

I think the reason they had it to begin with is to trim down on potential jet lag and fatigue. Has this potential problem gone away?

...no, but the team travel arrangements have drastically improved since 1985 -- team charters and the like. The 2-3-2 format was purely designed for the Lakers vs Celtics rivalries of that time. The party is finally over, good riddance 2-3-2!

from the link:

One argument for going back is that the lower seed has a disadvantage, but that hasn't seemed to play out in reality. The Heat were the higher seed this year, but Oklahoma City was the higher seed last year when the Heat won and Miami was the year before when Dallas won. The percentage of time the home team has won the finals is pretty much around 70 percent either way.

I would like to know if this was more of a Adam Silver decision or a David Stern decision? Probably Sterns. I'm just wondering what made him go back?

I heard it wasn't as much of getting the team there and in good shape but getting broadcasting equipment back and forth between the cities in a timely manner.

World Series has been 2-3-2.

that's right, totally spaced on that one (but that's partly because I don't really follow baseball much anymore).

They should have series go 1-1-2-2-1. That or 4-3.

5 game series were cool!
