Building around Beasley. Two young players that can defend, they can both backup the four, they're both hard workers, good kids (important with Beasley), and they know their roles. I took Perkins b/c I didn't like many of the other options for my team at center. Young is just a player I like to watch, I think he's going to be real good. Was thinking of taking a point guard but figured I would have a decent chance of getting a good one later on.

I had to pick shaq because he was basically the only center left worth getting... and his inside presence is always felt. He still is capable of being dominating and can pass the ball. He can also guard the Tim Duncans and Yao's of the league.

I picked Jamal Crawford because I needed another scorer and he gives me athleticism to go along with Parker and Marion who can push the ball. He also averaged 5 assists last season so he can also pass the ball and kick out. His FG % is a bit low for my liking, but the rest of my team shoots a high percentage to compensate for it.

lol given the ppl that were left... i think shaq would suffice more than the rest in guarding timmy D. the game 1 and game 5 shaq was in foul trouble with 5 fouls each game. yah, it could abeen timmy D that drew the fouls on him... but its hard to tell(coulda been fouling guards that went up for layups / other fouls / bad calls) unless we watch the game. but the bottom line is once your in foul trouble you won't be guarding the same and his minutes were limited. first game tim duncan played 51 opposed to shaq's 29... and 5th game he played 29 opposed to his 41, which could explain why tim duncan scored considerably higher in games 1 and 5. tim duncan only went to the line 3 times in game 5... but 6 times in game 1(amare had 6 fouls so it coulda been him fouling him, or now that i think about it it coulda been amare guarding tim duncan the whole time lol)...

but obviously when your post up player... would you want shaq guarding you? haha

Now that I thinka bout it... I don't even think Shaq was the one guarding TIm Duncan. I think D'antoni had Stoudamire on him. I rmeember specific clips of Stoudamire and Duncan going at it that series. So you can't even use that argument. I remember in the past when lakers would play the spurs and when shaq would guard tim duncan. Bottom line as KC said is: Shaq CAN guard tim duncan probably more or just as effectively as anyone else.

Shaq is over the hill & washed up and it's sad that he wouldn't be able to play that 82 game season vs the Spurs anyways
 
Well think whatever you want I guess. But if you think Shaq still has enough in his tank to guard Duncan or Yao then I guess more power to you
 
lol i know that he's a lot older now... but im just making a point from the last playoff series when shaq would play duncan because i think that was the last playoff series when that happened.

either way i still believe that shaq can guard tim duncan as effectively as anyone else you say you would put on him...

Look, it's this simple.

He said Shaq could guard Duncan.
You showed stats to show that he was wrong. Shaq can't guard Duncan.
He said Shaq still shot 60% from the field with Phoenix and was ok overall as a player.
You are bringing up Shaq's offense vs SAS, where he shot 44% from the field.
I say that it doesn't matter his stats on offense against SAS because they don't play them 82 games for a season.
You say it does matter because he said Shaq could play against Yao and Duncan.
I point out that he never said that, he only said Shaq could guard Yao and Duncan, his offense against them didn't matter, the whole offensive issue was in general on the Suns.
You say Duncan dominated the series against Shaq.

You are just arguing against things that were never said. Stay on the topic of what is being discussed.

wtf are you talking about? my last comment was in respect to what you said about defense. Shaq couldn't guard Duncan. If D'Antoni put stoudemire on him then he's a complete idiot.

In some weird, odd way, I like that team. Good shooting, Haywood brings good defense. BD can switch to the 2 in case Ben can't guard 'em. David West is a great player, an all-star.
