Honestly it looks like this one will be a sweep. Even if Ja is available I thought that the Lakers looked like the better team today. Sorry Lakers haters but this team is dangerous, especially if they keep learning more and more how to play together more effectively.

wow...I don't think a hand-wrist is supposed to bend the way Ja's did

Just because a narrative is repeated over and over, doesn't mean it's true.

Dames Career Playoff Averages
25.7 4.5 6.2 1.2 0.3

Dame's Playoff Averages vs Golden State
27.6 4.5 6.5 1.2 0.2

So in summary:
  • Original poster stated the Warriors stop Dame
    • The stats point out that Dame might have more individual success against the Warriors than any team int he league
  • KingSpeed assumes the OP was referencing the playoffs and states the Warriors shut down Dame in the playoffs
    • The stats point out that Dame is probably slightly above average vs the Warriors in the playoffs in comparison to other teams
So let's file this narrative in the trash next to the "Steph kills the Blazers in the playoffs because we played drop coverage" despite the data also suggesting Steph has had near average success against Portland in the playoffs, despite tgoing against the Blazers poor guard defenders.

The Warriors team success against Portland has been due to them having 3-4 all-stars against the Blazers 1. They've always been more talented, it's that simple.

I hate your facts and I reject them because... RAAHHHH

Saw it coming a mile away.
Lakers will lose when AD breaks.
He didn't break in 2020. I'm not a Lakers fan I just don't hate them the way a lot of people in this forum do and I think there is a high chance that they will get by Memphis and I don't see any team in the west that is obviously better than the Lakers if they put it all together and stay healthy. It's not the biggest if in the world either because they just did that three years ago. The trades the Lakers pulled off this season were bullshit because they got back a helluva lot more than they gave.

Morant injured
Giannis injured

Which star gets injured for the Suns/Clippers game?

I mean, yeah, that’s the exception not the rule.
History says he’s probably gonna hurt his body at some point.
But if he doesn’t … you’re right.

Damn, now Herro broken hand.

Wow!

Well, Paul George got his annual playoff injury out of the way already, so I'm going to go with Chris Paul getting his annual playoff injury right on schedule.

Oh hi Kevin Love.

I certainly hope the Blazers are in a good enough position next year to be able to bring in a buyout guy to add depth around trade deadline time.
It would be nice if they actually want to come here because it looks like the Blazers will be competitive.

And we had a legit chance at him :(

We could’ve had him for pennies on the dollar.

he had a great game today but he hasn't been a great player, at all. Actually he's been below average pretty much across the board

not sure why you guys are wishing Portland had him. Another 7th-9th man who hasn't done anything well...except today. Portland's problem isn't at 7-9, it's at 2-4

You should know the deal around here:

Bemoan the players that don't come here, overhype the youth/end of bench, and then crush them once they become starters.

Uh oh?
Maybe I’m wrong? Chuck just said the same thing I was thinking?
I’m all out of sorts now.

Exactly. 2-4 is our issue.

1-4 is what win championships. You need 2 REALLY good players, 1 pretty good player, and usually 1 player to elevate to the situation. Rarely is that player in the 7-9 range.

You could argue Simons / Grant could combine to cover the 4th spot.

We need a player equal to or greater than Dame, that's 1-2. That's the "push all chips in" move

We need another player that's equal to or greater than Grant, that's 3-4. In addition to satisfying above, this might require spending aka lux tax, unfortunately I don't think Jodi wants to spend :(

If Shaedon is our 5th best starter, that's a contender. You gotta have role players of course

Exactly. This is why I have a hard time with people who trot out opening day lineups and say that the Blazers can’t compete. Every year, come the playoffs, the injury bug makes a mess out of the roster power ranking notion.
