Their lottery pick this year would be about as much as I'd see them giving up if Barnes were also included.

Would we though? I mean, he's only 29, and he's an expiring. If we were truly rebuilding, would it be so bad to let him walk?
Why let him walk if you could get a pick out of him?

Certainly not opposedto dealing him for another asset... just saying it wouldn't bother me if we didn't. I would see that as a luxury rather than an expectation.

...BI was also throwing some shade Zion's way with this:

reality has landed pretty hard on the Pels and CJ. Since CJ joined the Pels, they are 60-59. Zion is Oden-esque in availability. Meanwhile Ingram has averaged playing in 56 games the last 6 seasons, 54 the last 3 seasons, and 50 the last 2 seasons (which makes it a little ironic he's looking at Zion). CJ had his worst season since his 2nd year and just played poorly in an elimination game. And for quite a while this season, people were talking about the Pels landing Wemby, or having a top-4 pick, or at least a lottery pick, because of their swap with the Lakers. Now, they won't even get that, meaning the only thing they have left from the AD trade (other than the often injured Ingram) is the Lakers' 1st round pick next season (or 2025)

they have some decent youngish players, but they are locked-in contract-wise, and seemingly dependent on Zion. Not a very good spot to be in and the optimism of summer has just about faded away

by the way, here's yet another cautionary tale about the reality of trading a franchise player (like Dame): in the 4 years since the Pelicans traded AD they have gone 139-169; and 2-4 in the playoffs. Trading franchise players is almost never a path to contention

Congrats. You have to pay the bills. Actually it shows how good you are at your job. Still need to tell the producers to stop running replays of prior action during live action. My pet peeve.

Who would trade for Zion? Personally, I think a swap of KAT and Zion would be a relief for both teams. And maybe removing Zion from one of the premiere food cities in the USA might be beneficial...
Zion may just eat himself out of the League. Truly sad.

Their youth is all lottery picks though right?
Also, what is it that OKC is doing. Sure they look like a promising young team that is about to either miss the playoffs yet again or get stomped out of the first round as the eight seed. I could be wrong but I've seen a ton of young teams with just as much buzz and talent as the Thunder just fizzle out, never making any big playoff runs let alone winning a title. Don't get me wrong they could do what the Warriors have done but they could go the way of a lot more home grown young squads which is the way of obscurity.

God I wish you guys realized how much that is not my fault. I’ll just say we have a producer who REALLY loves replays. HA! I think I’ll join TNT for the WCF and then it’s chill time for @THE HCP . Work some TImbers games until Seahawks preseason kicks off.

Nothing was worse than when they stayed on DeRozan's daughter during an entire play of a play in game the other night. That was maddening.

Way to go. As far as the teams you're covering, i wish both could lose.
This series I think will be amazing. Probably rooting for LA over PHX though. I’ve never been a CP3 or Booker fan. SideNote: I saw PG13 in the back hallway after our game down there this past weekend. Wearing a hug brace on his knee and super limping. I don’t know anything, but he looks like he’s nowhere near returning.

It's your fault for cutting such great highlight packages. Own up to your mistakes.

Please feel free to blame Blazers Broadcasting for that. Also, I hope the geeks on here watched the Final Four. Didn’t hear any complaints on camera angles on that one. If you bitch about the low angled hand held cameras WE use in live action….you must have LOVED CBS’ coverage.

These producers get out of control, that thing with DeRozan's daughter or missing a big time play because they cut to the broadcast booth so we can watch the play by play guy/girl and analyst talk about the game we're trying to watch or even more often talk about some random shit like what they had to eat or some old time anecdote. Definitely not a Blazers Broadcasting problem because everyone else does it too and while it's in all sports, basketball moves way too fast to get away with it... in my amateur opinion.

Well that has always been my response to complaints on here. Valid or not, please feel free to watch the other teams feed out there and THEN compare. There are some HORRIBLE shows on regional NBA broadcasts.

And then like the Bulls game, there are sometimes (less often) that national broadcasts seem to lose it. I think this shit has to feel like it's happening at an even faster speed for you guys with all of the feeds you have coming in so I get it that a producers job has some hard decisions in it.

Just a pet peeve of mine that seemingly all of them pull at one point or another is pulling us completely away from live game action. It seems like they could always go picture in picture. I just don't get that. I imagine they might think they're doing something innovative that will catch on or something that's memorable in a positive way but we tune in to watch the game.

The media has no idea how to cover the ‘race’ to the play-in yet but I have to say the games have been fun to watch.
