ESPN reports the Kings have three separate offers for their No. 8 pick in Thursday's draft and are weighing them.

The Sacramento Kings are fielding offers from three teams for the No. 8 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, sources with direct knowledge told ESPN on Monday.

Sources said the Kings have two deals that could be done prior to Thursday's 2 p.m. ET trade deadline to change the draft order and one would be a draft night deal, depending on which players are available when the Kings select.

The three deals would return multiple draft picks and a veteran player to the Kings for the No. 8 pick.

The Kings have been said to be looking at a trade for months now, out of the No. 8 spot. They're using a groupsource system to provide draft insight. They can move back and get approximate talent in the teens and potentially pick up another quality asset.

It makes sense on one level, in terms of maximizing assets, but there are legit top-level possibilities at No. 8 who probably won't be there later. You can add the Kings to the list of teams that could make for a wild draft night Thursday.

It's an informal deadline. Trades have to be done by then to be announced before the draft. Otherwise, they have to wait until either both teams have made their selections in the 1st round or the first round and then they can be announced is over is my understanding.

The speculated fall back plan of teaming Exum and Smart over Exum and MCW is what I question. If Smart was a better shooter than I could see how he could fit in better with Exum than Williams.

Maybe Philly is high on someone else at #7 (PF to play alongside Noel or maybe they think Embiid will slide to 7? That may work out better for them.

Just because MCW won RoY doesn't mean he is actually that great. Watching him play, mostly at the end of the season, he was chasing stats and seem to have developed some bad habits. I think he will be a decent player in this league but never an allstar. Whoever goes #7 would have gone #1 in last years draft and with MCW being an old rookie all it takes is for Hinkie to believe that the #7 pick is more valuable to the sixers then MCW, which isn't that hard to imagine it being since they are still going to be sucking for a few years, and he wouldnt' be afraid to make the trade.
Wiggins most likely won't be there at 3 so I think they take Exum at that spot.

"officially" announcing trades is basically waiting for the nba to announce the trade, yeah? whothefuckcares. i want my trades "announced" by woj and the like the second they are agreed to, i could care less about the "official" nba press release days later or what have you. if the worst thing that can happen is LMA wearing a bulls hat on the podium then whatever.

Yeah but is Smart better? I am just not sold on him. I doubt he will be better than Oladipo. (Who I would have taken over Bennett last year and Smart this year)

He has great size for a PG, but in the NBA when they take away his drive and force him to pass or shoot a jumper, I am not sure how he will perform. At least with MCW he can pass it.

Judging by his performance, he shouldn't have been drafted at all.

Although this summer I don't think we have cap space just to take a player

Imagine if we had the cap space this summer that we had last summer. Big market teams ready to just dump any player if they can get Lebron.

It's more a cutoff than a deadline. You left off the back half of the quote...

I can't stand Dwight sometimes. Is there anyone who wouldn't trade LA for Lebron . . . of course Lebron would never come to Ptd much less come to Ptd w/o LA.

Dwight would also suggest LA for Boozer just to stir the pot and get hits to his article . . . so shut the fuck up Dwight.
