Houston is talking about trading Harden to NY for Melo. (Melo would do a sign and trade.)

I would rather have Harden over Melo but considering how OKC got rid of him and now reportedly Houston is looking to do the same you have to wonder if he's a locker room problem.

Why does John Clownzano keep posting non Blazers shit in the Blazers twitter forum. He's been doing this all day long. His tweets havn't even been about basketball.

OKC didn't want to pay Harden max money, and the rumor is only coming from Chris Broussard who is known for his fake "sources".

This is actually better then I thought Houston would get for Asik, especially if the rumor is that it could be a late lottery pick if the pelicans miss out on the playoffs next year.

I don't think OKC wanted to pay him even $10M due to luxury tax consequences.

And I liked the Evans signing. NO gained 7 wins over their previous record. In the tough West, no less.

I think that had more to due with the Brow improving and Jrue Holiday being pretty good but Evans wasn't bad. Would be interesting to see how Evans and Holiday played alongside each other at the end of the year but both seemed to be unable to stay on the court.

So the Mavericks and Rockets are making moves

Do something meaningful, Neil. The Blazers need to get better.

Yes they do. You want me to make a list of why Portland is a legit destination? Everyone knew Indy would match hibbert. If lebron wanted to go to Portland, he would go to Portland

Everyone knows LeBron won't go to Portland

The closer this draft gets the more I hope the Blazers don't do anything. Do we need another young player in this group??
If we could get rid of Leonard it might be worth it.

Holiday played 34 games. Evans 72. NO was 15-19 in those 34 games. 32-40 in Evans' 72.

Yes, Evans' 42% FG and 28% 3PT, plus the 18.3 PER on 27.5 USG, were invaluable for $10m/per.

How did this move make the Mavericks better next year? The only thing it does is clear up cap space for 2015, unless they think Carmelo Anthony will sign there. I'm still not sure that makes them better, though.

Chandler hasn't played in over 66 games the past 3 seasons, and only had 55 last year in his worst season statistically since the Mavs' title year.

The Pelicans will arguably have a better 4/5 combo than the Blazers next season

If Neil just stands pat and signs a low impact MLE player and hopes the young guys improve then next year will be a waste

I don't get the fascination with USG. All it means is that they drew up plays for him and he was able to get shots off.

In fact, it is an indication that they really wanted him to shoot.

They wouldn't have been able to sign Tyreke Evans then, though. :)

You say that mockingly but Evans was 15 5 and 5 essentially on 28 mins a night. If they can ever balance that lineup Evans is a good young piece to have even more so if he can ever learn to make long range jumpers.

How is it Houston moved all their contracts for Howard and now for Lebron? While the Blazers can't even move for air?

His usage would have dropped significantly with a healthy Holiday and Anderson around to share the scoring burden with him and Davis

90% of the Soccer Moms would be reluctant to involve Robinson or McCollum in any trade

This roster needs to get better. Just waiting and banking on the starting 5 and no bench is foolish. The draft and MLE mean nothing.

Neil needs to pull something off to keep up.

You have my attention. What would you do?

They either get decent players with value IE Asik or terrible players they can easily walk from White for example. Plus 2 starters made under a million last year.

Re: Official FA Rumors Thread

I can see a team taking Asik without much incentive, he's a quality C that could start for a lot of teams.

He's due 15 million his final season. His cap hit is less, but whatever team trades for him is paying him superstar money for average performance. I just don't see it.

the :MARIS61:
has already started, I see, like it usually does on trade deadline day and on draft nights, when we don't land some huge player in a sweetheart deal for us, regardless of availability.
