Damn, Fonz, less than a minute post-tweet. Well done, good man!

I get push notifications when woj tweets. He's really the only person worth while to follow imo. If woj says it it's good, and he's never out of the loop.

DEN to ORL : "My motto? F*** Lotto. I'll get the seven digits from your mother for a dollar tomorrow"

Sounds like Orlando wants a late pick so that they can try to get something from a team like us with no pick... I don't want to get gouged.

wes mathews had a higher ts%, efg%, trb%, assist%, steal%, PER, WS, and ws/48 than klay last year

also a lower TO% and USG, and shot more free throws at a higher percentage, with double the FTr

basically, klay has 2 more ppg on 3 more shots per game, and blocks shots a little better. aside from that wes is more efficient in every possible way.

ill concede klay might be a better defender, but its not by much.

so it begs the question, can we get kevin love in a trade with wes mathews as the centerpiece?

I think we discussed it last summer, but Klay really isn't that much better than Wes (if at all). He's just much more hyped.

Man it seems like we couldve got Afflalo for our bench for a really reasonable price.

no doubt, i remember busting klays chops with stats LAST offseason. if anything wes has widened the gap.

And if you look at those stats I linked, Kevin Martin at 23 was a much much much better scorer. Much more efficient. The only thing Klay does better is shoot the three.

Maybe that wasn't part of their plan.

Perhaps but Im not sure why he shouldnt have been. He is a good defender and can score. Both things are needed on our bench. Really really makes me wonder because I cant believe that Olshey didnt at least check so what are the plans exactly?????

We will be able to answer this better in a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see why.

We couldn't have absorbed Afflalo's 7.75M contract without sending out at least 5.3M of our own. That either guts our stable of young players or one of the starters, or ORL takes on "non-optimal" assets like Freeland or Wright, which goes against their cap space flexibility plan.

DEN used an exception they had (edit: 9.8M from Iggy's trade last year that they had to use by 10 July). Now they have about 2M left on that exception and a couple of ones at 1.7M and 1.2M).

Ahhh, thanks for that. makes me feel a little better about that

I wonder if Orlando ends up with the number one pick

Hm...

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA · 1h
Cleveland and Orlando nowhere on a possible deal for the No. 1 pick, team sources tell Yahoo Sports. "Total bullshit," one executive says.

It does seem like a decent fit. What kind of FAs can ORL bring in with Oladipo, Wiggins, Vucevic and about 30M in space?

ORL is pretty close to "2 RFA Max" territory, has the #4 and the #12. :dunno: Maybe ORL knows that a backcourt of Oladipo and Exum or Wiggins or Gordon is better if they don't have an 8M not-part-of-the-future player blocking the younguns?

Dunno.

set up for a tank job again this season, guess we will see who they bring in...might be ripe for a salary dump to acquire a gaggle of picks also

Initial rumors had afflalo 4,12 for 1. I wonder if cavaliers really had no interest in afflalo, and would prefer to dump Jack, and thus the tpe created from afflalo deal?
