Exclusive NBA Trade Deadline 2026 (Ideas for Joe) (1 Viewer)

I still can't get over how many people I see that are so eager to deal Bucks picks for low-level starters or average rotation players. Those picks might be in the lottery at a time when you figure we'll be looking to take on young contracts with high upside.

I get the urge to want to shake up the roster just for giggles, but some of this stuff is what I would expect someone on a Western rival's board to post that they wanted the Blazers to do.
Yeah, I just don't think it's realistic for us to go out and get pieces that will have us in serious contention over the next few seasons once Dame is back.

I'm really hoping that this deadline sees us move our vets and either stockpile more draft assets and/or get some more young pieces. That being said I am used to being disappointed by our front office (not necessarily this iteration but just in general) so we'll wait and see what if any moves we make at this deadline.

Depends on cost.... Id do:

Grant + Williams
for
MPJ + Sharpe

Not sure Nets would go for that. I would not offer up any draft capital for him
I don't know why the Nets would want win now vets. They are 10 games under .500 and seem to be in the middle of a rebuild.

You either severely overrate our guys in that trade or you don't care for MPJ much.

There is almost no point in trading for Murphy. We need a CLEAR upgrade at a position. I don't want to give assets up to get Murphy here while we still have Sharpe, Deni and Camara.

We need to keep Deni and get him a legit star next to him. Not a semistar. We already have a collection of those types.

Oh really? Who are our semi-stars?

Grant? No.
Sharpe? Nope, maybe someday but still role player
Camara? Known defensively but would not deign to call him a semi-star
Clingan? Role player
Injured guys? either past prime or role players (at best)

But agree on Murphy, we need more of an upgrade than him, especially if it costs draft capital. Not enough of an upgrade to go there.

Gramps...

My point is Murphy is on a similar tier to the Camara, Sharpe, Scoot types. He is a young player with some upside on a bad team. I don't see him making a leap like Deni to get into star territory. Therefore, I don't see the point in trading for him. We need to aim much higher.

Maybe we could send Jerami to the Bucks, the Bucks could ship Kuzma and Coffey to the Lakers, the Lakers would send us Vincent and Kleber who we'd waive and Knecht that we'd keep and both the Bucks and Lakers would give us pick swaps so we get the best of ours the Lakers and Bucks pick in 2031, the Bucks would get the middle pick and the Lakers would get he worst.

Getting Knecht and that kind of a swap for Jerami is good value, the Bucks don't have to give up too much and the Lakers upgrade one of their rotation spots.

MPJ and Grant are on the same tier of player IMO. I don't particularly care for either one to be on my team
I might have agreed with you last year on that, although MPJ is younger, but not this year. I think it is clear, even though he is on a worse team, that MPJ has taken a step forward and worked through his injuries.
