NBA's Top 100: Roy/10th; Aldridge/39th; Miller/67th; Oden/84th

Call me crazy, but I'd actually take Roy over KG and Bosh.

Also Wade over Paul.

And Oden shouldn't be one the list, IMO.

I love how they put all those guys ahead of Zach Randolph at number 88.

I thought Roy was about right, perhaps a little off, but debatable. LMA I thought was shafted a bit, but not too bad, maybe five spots too low. Oden was also a little low, but I expect by the end of this season he will jump up about 40 spots.

For one season, it's hard to argue that KG isn't better- but at this point in their careers, Roy is much more valuable.

But I would have trouble deciding between Wade and Paul- Paul is, in my opinion, the best at his position. Wade is great, but a little more injury prone in his style of play.

not bashing your thoughts.. but how many of the players below Oden would you actually take over him? not very many for me.

85-100 were all better than Oden last season. Putting Oden ahead of ZBo isn't fair. ZBo produces. Oden has not.

Eh the list is okay, but it depends on what you're looking for. For this season? For future considerations? Given contract issues? Healthy issues?

For example, did anyone noticed that Gerald Wallace was hanging out ranked in the 90's?

Durant #12. Did we have a chance at drafting him?

I'm still holding my breathe that Oden develops. Watching Durant in college he was such a special player. And has proven his worth in the league already. Not to beat a dead horse but Roy/Durant on the wings would have been lethal considering that Pryzbilla is an effective starting center in the league. But we shall see..

I'd also take Roy over KG and Bosh (and Dirk, Duncan [at this stage of his career])

This is a list of the top 100 currently playing. Oden has to be on this list for upside alone, maybe at #98 cause the only people I can say he is better than 100% is Jermaine O'neal (cause of health issues) and Zbo (cause of issues). I certainly think Andris Biedrins should be ahead of Oden, dude averages 11.9 ppg, 11.2 rpg and is only 23.

Kind of surprised to see Biedrins, Gerald Wallace and Millsap so low. I'd gladly take any of those guys over somebody like Harrington of Villanueva.

I made the mistake in thinking that the list was heavily based on production. Oden of course has tons of upside but he is a liability offensively and is turnover prone and ridiculously foul prone (about 4 in 22 minutes).

Guys like Biedrins, Randolph, Gerald Wallace, and even Al Harrington, Nate Robinson and TJ Ford are currently better or were better last season. I can't definitively say where he would be, but I wouldn't put him in the top 100.

KG was injured last season so it's a tough call. But I do think he has declined significantly to the point where Roy is better than him.

The list is not about past production, it's about predicting the coming year. That was obvious from the get-go when they explained why Yao Ming was omitted.

Gilbert Arenas at #36 is further proof. If the list is about ranking the coming year, I think Oden is about where I'd rank him. He wouldn't be on the list at all if I were to rank last year.

Shaq at #29?? Really? I don't think he's fallen THAT far.

So if Bargnani is 70th and worth $50M for five years, what is LMA worth at 39th?

But seriously, who really cares what these lists say? They're just the opinions of the author and don't carry any real weight (with all due respect Tony Mejia).

I suppose now that we're in September the countdown to training camp will seem to go even slower. :sigh:

I didn't even read the intro I just sort of skimmed through the list. That said, I still wouldn't put Oden ahead of my aforementioned players. I don't expect much of an improvement as it usually takes big men a few years to develop.

I assume he's using that to his advantage in negotiations. I do think Bargnani is overpaid and Aldridge is more or less worth $10M per.

Roy should be around #7, imo.

Oden, meh... he hasn't done anything to warrant anything, but I suppose past #80 it gets pretty iffy anyway.

Aldridge should be top 30, imo. He is damn good. Hopefully 22/9 inc. this year. He is my boy.
