Not sure if any of you play the NCAA video games...

EA Sports' "NCAA Football" video game series could be coming to an end -- at the very least, it's about to undergo a major branding change.

The NCAA announced Wednesday that it will not renew its licensing contract with EA Sports, which expires next June. The 2014 edition of "NCAA Football" will be the last under its current name.

But while the NCAA specifies that the 2014 game "will be the last to include the NCAA's name and logo," the statement leaves the door open for the game to continue largely unchanged -- if the conferences and schools featured in the game elect not to follow the NCAA's lead.

Linkage

I wonder if this is the result of the O'bannon suit against the NCAA.

Is he suing for kids to get paid?

Because if so, while this maybe for a entirely different thread, I would agree with him. NCAA makes millions (more likely billions) from athletes and they can't get even 1% of that money?

It's about the NCAA using athletes likeness for profit.

I'm sure there are better links, but this was one of the first few when I googled O'bannon suit vs NCAA.
