I live about 8 blocks away from this business. Looks like he didn't have any security for this establishment and should have done something when that gun was left in the trash can and also the fights. Whenever I drove by, I never saw white/asian/hispanic people hanging outside. It was always black american.
"Thompson this afternoon said the police allegations aren't true, and he sought to clear his name. The name of his business, Seeznin's, is also Thompson's nickname. A good friend of his gave him the nickname because he said Thompson's personality had a lot of flavor."
"Seeznin's, Samuel Thompson, does not stand for any of this nonsense,'' Thompson said.
Another problem at the Bar.

"(As a city,) we do have a gang problem. We do have a problem with gun violence...but Seeznin's is not the cause of this problem. We are victims of this violence. I lost the opportunity to take care of my family.''
Another problem at the Bar.
Why didn't the bar security ask the young men to leave the property? Its obvious that the bar didn't have any security.According to the OLCC, on April 10, a fight occurred at the bar involving about 20 known gang members. Gang members arrived in force, wearing their gang colors, rivals of other gang members who often gather at the bar. After the rival gang left, one gang member was shot and killed.
The commission is referring to the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Mario Alexander Marin, of Gresham, shortly after 1 a.m. April 10 in the area of Northeast 86th Avenue and Sacramento Street. Numerous calls to 9-1-1 reported multiple gunshots and vehicles speeding out of the area.
According to Portland police, the bar had denied entry to a group of about 20 young men, most claiming to be "Hoover" gang members or affiliates. A fight erupted, and police found Marin shot a few blocks away. Police, in their memo to the OLCC, said Marin was a member of the "Six Deuce Crips.''
Thompson said the group of young men were denied access to his bar because they were 17, 18 and 19-year-olds - minors. He said one of his bartenders called gang outreach worker Tonya Dickens to alert her to the large group of young people outside the bar, and Dickens notified police. By the time police arrived, the young men were gone.
Thompson said Marin's shooting death "had absolutely nothing to do with here.''
