Good stuff...
We would love to share our story with all of the Trail Blazers fans. We want to thank the Blazers President, Larry Miller for making this experience a dream come true.We recently moved from Portland to Topeka Kansas. We went to alot of games last year at the Rose Garden. We discovered the Blazers were going to play a pre season game in Kansas City Missouri one hour away from our home. We were walking around the stadium dressed in all of our Blazers gear.We still could not believe we were about to watch them play, when suddenly we looked over to see Larry Miller the Blazers President walking toward us. We introduced ourselves and told him we were pleaded to meet him.We shared our story with him and told him how greatful we were that the Blazers were here tonight. We asked him if the team was staying all night tonight and he said no they were going straight to the airport after the game.He asked where we were sitting and we told him upper level.Larry reached in his suit pocket and pulled out two tickets in the lower level and he offered them to us,however they were not together and in different sections and he knew we wanted to sit together. So Larry looked at us and said I'll tell you what if you can get down to the court and find me after the game I will give you passes to go back and meet the team.We told him we would try and get to him after the game.We went to our seats in the upper deck and started looking for where Larry Miller was sitting. We spotted him sitting in front of Kevin Pritchard. We moved down in the 4th quarter and walked behind the 100 level seats, the ushers were everywhere, and one of them told us to go to our seats because we can't stand there. We walked around trying to figure out how we were going to get down there. With 2 minutes left in the game we started heading down the stairs as a few fans were leaving,we were so nervous but we knew this was our chance of a lifetime. We sat in some empty seats about 5 rows behind the Blazers bench. Then the game ended we made our way over to Larry. As soon as our eyes met he smiled and opened up his suit he then handed us 2 backstage passes that you wear around your neck.We walked through the tunnel and we had one last obstacle a tough security guard. He said who are you and we said the President of the Blazers gave us these passes. We showed him our Oregon Drivers Licenses and he said go stand over there by the locker room.We noticed Jason Quick of the Oregonian standing there and about 4 other reporters. We stood in the hallway and watched Nate McMillan give an interview.Afterwards we introduced ourselves. We told Nate our story. He told us Portland misses us and he was happy we got to see them play.Nate kindly answered all of our questions. We told him we were going to try and see them in Oklahoma City in February. He said that would be great and he even went out of his way to tell us what hotel they were staying at and to call him. Nate opened up his briefcase and gave us a sharpie to get autographs with.As he signed our hat,Greg Oden walked out and Nate said you guys better go catch Greg his autograph is worth more than mine is.So we ran after Greg got his autograph shook his hand.Greg was really nice!We met Luke Jackson,Bayless,Randolph,Batum,Sergio, Hill. They were all very nice guys.We also got to meet Kevin Pritchard and his daughter we talked alittle bit about lawrence,Kansas his hometown. He was happy we were there and thanked us for our support.Last but not least,we hung out with Travis Outlaw and LaMarcus Aldridge. They were both funny and friendly alot of fun.We walked them all the way down the hall to the bus joking around and signing autographs for us.We were trying to convince Travis Outlaw to enter the Slam Dunk Contest this year.We never wanted this moment to end it was unbelievable.Over 12,000 fans in the sprint center that night, and they were able to spot two die hard blazer fans, and allow us to meet all of the players. This story just goes to show that the Portland Trail Blazers believe in there fans as much as we believe in them.We would like to say thank you to the entire Blazers organization for making this experience one we will remember forever.Thank you to the players for taking the time to meet us and giving us your autographs.Thank you Nate McMillan for your time and your thoughtfulness.Thank you Larry Miller,President of the Portland Trail BLazers for going above and beyond for us.Thank you for turning one special night, into a dream come true. GO BLAZERS!See you in Oklahoma City!
