in your opinion, especially regarding Leonard, I'd say the majority of this board probably disagreesYeah but using capspace to sign Turner instead of resign Leonard and Harkless would be a major downgrade.
Let's see, an average NBA player that's 27 with no potential, or two average NBA players that are 23/24 with some potential.we can easily increase capspace by deciding to let Harkless/Leonard go along with their cap holds

"trust" in him? appears he tried his best to get a Parsons and Howard combo and perhaps Whiteside as well, POR as we are seeing and have seen for years is just not a destination for "name" FA's - it is what it isSeriously. Olshey will spin it in his special little way and fans will buy it. But I've lost some trust in him if he doesn't pull something big off.
I think he knows very little about the capspace rulesYou're aware that the Blazers can go over the cap to retain their own free agents, right?
Turner is gonna love you when he gets hereLet's see, an average NBA player that's 27 with no potential, or two average NBA players that are 23/24 with some potential.
I know who'd I rather have.
I have no confidence that Olshey can build a real contender. He's good at salvaging bad situations and making them good (Clippers, Last Year's Blazers), but he can't turn a team from good into a contender.C'mon Bones...everybody spins all this shit their own little special way..big is what the team looks like as a unit, not an individual. This is getting interesting...enjoy the ride as it unfolds...he's not done. Didn't get the guy folks wanted so why is anyone surprised?
Turner said he wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for the money so idgaf.Turner is gonna love you when he gets here
I said we have no cap space now because of Turner. I was told that we could if we renounce free agents (which I already knew.. I know more about cap rules then most on here). Thing is if we renounced them, it'd be like chosing Turner over them which is bad. If we resign them we won't be able to sign an important free agent. You're aware that the Blazers can go over the cap to retain their own free agents, right?

Either way it's a lose-lose.
Fuck I don't even know.. Yeah this off season is a failure. Again.Who was left that you wanted?
The reality sucks. The reality is that we lost out to fucking Memphis.

Which is worse? Losing out to Memphis this year or losing out to Milwaukee with Monroe last summer? Forget how it worked out and that Monroe may still get moved. Portland is losing out to those two cities which I really thought we could beat out. It's not like we lost out to a Championship team or a glitzy market.....it's MIL and MEM for goodness sake.
Turner is a replacement for Henderson. Of the Blazers renounce him, they get $9 mil of cap space back. It was going to cost close to what Turner got to retain Henderson so there's not much of a difference.

Turner is a solid player but at that price? The norm is we have to overpay mid-tier FA to come here.
Every year we bump threads and here we are getting the crow ready, yet again.
So?
LA and NY are missing out on big names as well. Big f'ing deal.
Besides, Memphis with their players has a better track record the past few years than Portland does with its current roster. There's no guarantee a healthy Portland is better than a healthy Memphis.
