Neil Olshey promised a very aggressive offseason?...

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

LETS FIRE HIM NOW. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BY NOW. FUCKING PIKERS.

I'm sorry, were we supposed to have everything settled in 2 days? Or are you just disappointed that there aren't more Blazer-related rumors out there that would likely amount to nothing?

How about we at least let the moratorium end before we start complaining about Olshey not being aggressive enough? Geez, you can be such a SlyPokerDog sometimes...

Free agency started 1.5 days ago!!!! Why has nothing be done!?!?!

I think I like that its been so quiet. like how olshey operates...just because everything isn't in the media doesn't mean we aren't being very active behind closed doors. this makes me think we're working on a trade

Lol

1) got TRob for peanuts
2) got two role players in 2nd round in Crabbe and Withey
3) Everything is a halt until DHo chooses Houston

A- so far

He drafted McCollum at ten too. I think that will pay off handsomely.

It's like rounds of a draft. Last summer we could afford Round 1, so he was at Hibbert's front door at midnight. This time, we can only afford Round 2, so he's waiting for scraps in the back next to the doghouse, watching the Moon.

The dog is Hickson. If neither gets enough scraps, so he signs Hickson, they'll stay together in the doghouse next season.

I don't care that he's active or not. I care that he improves the team in the long term.

When he took over, the cupboard was pretty bare.

Lmao!!!!! Seriously?! Come on bgd! Why are you silly sometimes?!

The heat has really gotten to BGD the last few days...

LOL and yes, chill BGD and thank your gods or whatever that Olshey is not throwing out stupid contracts like we are seeing given and talked about. Sac may max out Iggy and Orleans may give Tyreke a 48 mil contract - fukkin insane IMO. Now if we can get a Lopez brother because of that and get him dirt cheap then that is the way to take advantage if this situation. We aren't going to build a winner overnight and we are quickly building our assets.

Before Neil:

We drafted Luke Babbitt
We drafted Nolan Smith
We traded Andre Miller for Ray Felton and passed on Kenneth Faried.

With Neil we have:
Drafted Dame

That's enough for me right there.

Color me not surprised. I can't remember the last time we were able to use free agency effectively. NBA players don't want to come here. We just need to keep building through the draft and trades.

While Olshey is sitting on his hands this is happening..........The Grizzlies will re-sign Tony Allen and Jon Leuer, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal ... Pistons trying to trade for Rudy Gay? ... Kings offering a four-year contract to Andre Iguodala? ... Rockets want both Josh Smith and Dwight Howard ... Kevin Martin to Minnesota ...

If we needed a PF or a SG, we would be wheeling and dealing. We are just in the market for a C, probably the most difficult position to fill with a quality starter. Damn Howard is holding this entire process up.

Dwight Howard will announce his free agency decision on Friday, according to a report citing a person close to the center.

Howard wrapped up his free agent meetings on Tuesday with his team last season, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Howard also met with the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers were the last team that sat down with Howard.

I've gotta think that we have an agreement in place with Houston should Howard elect to become a Rocket. Signing TRob lowered our cap space but helped the Rockets - and now with Houston hoping to sign Howard I see Asik coming our way. But there may be something even larger looming - like a three-team deal with LMA heading to Houston with Asik, Josh Smith and some picks coming back to Portland and Lin and filler going to Atl.

I like your optimism. Personally I do not want any part of Josh Smith. He does seem to waiting on Dwight. Sounds like the Rockets are interested in signing and keeping him. I would prefer to see him just sign with someone immediately, because right now if he does end up in Houston with Dwight, we don't get Asik. Atlanta would get him in a sign and trade.

Bottom line: root for Smith to sign somewhere else as soon as possible. Not in Houston

I think it would be Josh Smith going to Houston not LA.

Lakers free agent center Dwight Howard reportedly asked the Rockets during their meeting with him if and how they could get another max free agent to go wth him and James Harden if he signs with Houston. Now Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that the Rockets have immediately moved to add Josh Smith alongside Howard to convince him to sign.

League sources told CBSSports.com on Tuesday night that the Rockets acted quickly on Howard's desire to bring another star to Houston with him and have begun their pursuit of Smith, the Hawks' free agent forward and Howard's former AAU teammate in Atlanta, in a sign-and-trade arrangement.

Fair enough. I'm just thinking that if Neil was going to make this huge, aggressive splash in free agency - it better be with Houston or I'm calling it "free agency fizzle."

That would actually be somewhat palatable. The LMA for shit sandwich trades are getting old, though.

The draft builds us long-term; free agency does immediately. To keep Aldridge, we can't tank next year.

So whatever Olshey did in the draft doesn't compensate, if he fails this month. June and July are two separate things.

We drafted Dame last summer... you don't think he boosted our winning percentage immediately?
