What kills me is Lamar Odom never played a game without smoking....

This is a big part of my point though. If it hinders your performance like you suggest why would any athlete be stupid enough to use it? Just wait until your career is over and smoke all the weed you want. A guy like Noel already has severely under performed compared to the talent he has in the NBA. Why on Earth would he do drugs that make him an even worse player? Is it simply that he is in denial that it could possibly be hindering his performance? Imagine Odom or a guy like Larry Sanders if they could have stayed off the drugs.

Overall you'd say his career was just a fraction of his potential though right? Odom could've been one of the greats in my opinion with that skillset. Just because he won titles doesn't mean the druh use didn't hinder his performances.

Slowly the public is starting to understand that MJ is being used as an alternative to actually dangerous opiods. Hopefully Silver figures this out and stops testing for it. Both may have been using it for pain management. As someone that does, I could care less what they were using it for.
