I don't think Dunleavy had the power to punish him.
I honestly think it was on his teammates.
Criticism of Dunleavy is justified. I thought he did as well as could be expected with that group. I'm not sure what else could have been done.
I think college is way different. Sheed had no leverage in college.
Sheed was a problem for Detroit as well. Though, he was better behaved than in Portland. But he wasn't their focal point. And he was really focused the first 6 months. And that's the only time they had any real success.
You could be right, and Mike could have done more. These were just my impressions. I certainly don't have any inside info.
*Edit* I honestly think Sheed did as well as he did in Detroit, because Portland finally punished him. By dealing him to a team that didn't even really want him.
