Coaches decide this week, I think it is today, actucally . Kidd's indiviual stats arent that great due to the injury & then his minutes being limited the first 10 games of his return. But I think just his pressence & overall team impact that he has had since returning from injury will be enuff to get him in the All-star game. I doubt the coaches will leave him off.
Anyway, last night was a sign of our scappiness because after the way Nets shot the ball in the 1st half, we all figured it would be a matter of time before the Nets opened up a big lead. But Philly stayed in it in the first half. And in the 2nd half, Jersey couldnt make a shot to save their life in that third quarter. They went about 5 game time minutes without a field goal. And the Nets couldnt really stop Willy Green or Corliss Williamson in that third. But we just fought to keep Philly within striking distance going into the 4th. And then in the 4th we were able to get a couple of key stops down the stretch. And Vince had that sweet 3pt play to tie the score. But I think that the most impressive thing had to be Jason Kidd locking down Corliss Williamson two straight times in the post, when none of our front line guys could come close to handling Big Nasty.
In overtime, we pretty much ran the same play over and over. Post Jason Kidd up on the strongside, wiat for the double team. And he swings it weakside for a Mercer 15 footer. And Mercer stepped up & knock down those mid range jumpers.
