He doesn't have to because he'll be a starter soon. (jr)

Hey now.

Seems my move of dropping Zaza and adding JR Smith has gone right.

they're both marginal guys. Don;t worry, you'll be cutting JR in about two weeks.

29 points, 10-13 fg, 7-8 from three. Seems he's gettin hot.

Just one game. He's not nearly as good as zaza.

Zaza just lost his spot to Horford. Less minutes, less stats.

We'll see. I'm more worried about Nate Robinson than Zaza.

Nate Robinson likes guys that smell bad.

Sean Williams: 9 pts, 4/7 FG, 6 reb, 1 stl, 4 blk, 1 to. (with 4:21 to go in the 4th)

Zaza: 6 pts, 3/8 FG, 4 reb, 3 stl, 3 to.

I think I made a pretty good choice there.

sean williams could end up being a good pickup. you have to manage differently in a head-to-head league with daily changes than one with weekly changes and a bench. for instance, the only reason I cut JR Smith was his suspension to start the season; i had already lost Josh Howard and had to compete for the week. I needed another big man and I'll give zaza a chance. If his numbers (including minutes) don't increase after about a week or two, when he should start to get his legs back, I'll probably cut him.

Well, Zaza started tonight, but Horford outplayed him. ALOT. So I expect him to either get under or around the same minutes he got tonight (18 minutes).

I should also note that this was without Shelden Williams playing...

And that makes sense to drop JR. Just as it woulda made sense to drop Zaza when he actually got injured (which I was too clueless to do). So I understand that drop. So far tonight, halfway in the game, he's only got 3 points, 3 assists...so we'll see how he ends the game.

I was planning to pick JR back up again, but by then it was unclear what his role would be. I was also planning to pick McCants up again in a few days; I couldn't believe someone would pick him up while he was injured and out for an indefinite period.

The word on zaza is that he is the starter, and Horford will come off the bench and back up both the center and PF positions. Of course, zaza could still just play 15 minutes a night . . . but he was pretty good the last two years. I could forsee both zaza and horford playing about 25-30 minutes a night each, and if zaza gets that, he could average 12 points and 8 rebounds, which would be fine. We'll see.

33 points later, look who has him...

Are you saying KC's about to be eaten by a feral cat? Enjoy that acorn while you can! Are we still using metaphors?

Last year I beat you 8-0-1 and 6-3, so I just averaged that.

It's Me Ghoties has 3 players ranked in the top 25, 5 players ranked higher than my top guy, Rudy Gay, at 30. Just pointing this out now so at the end of the week I'll either have bragging rights or an excuse.

I like your style.

It's Me Ghoties has a name more clever than 100% of the other teams in the league. Just pointing this out so at the end of each week I can either have something positive to fall back on, or use it to boost my boasting even higher.

their rankings are inaccurate. i believe that they don't scale the percentage categories by the number of shot attempts, which is why scrubs that are 10-10 from the line are ranked higher than they should be.

Really? Where'd you hear that? I can see that happening, though.

I agree, but it's pretty tough to get into the top 30 w/o significant playing time. Outside of that issue, I like the rankings a lot.

I didn't hear it anywhere, but if you run the rankings for the period of the past week it is the only way it makes sense. It would be hard to notice a difference in the year-to-date numbers, because scrubs that have high shooting percentages would be very far behind in the quant categories (although they would get a boost from turnovers).

As a further example, there are players that play a lot (and so have decent Assist, rebound, steal, and block numbers) but may get to the line just once a week and have a 1.000 FT%. They shouldn't be higher than someone with similar stats, but who shoot 80% free throws on more attempts, but they are.

Wonder Bread offered meStromile Swift, Mehmet Okur, and Francisco Garcia for Joe Johnson and Pau Gasol. ShouldI have accepted?
