The Nets are hoping to sign LeBron James, but they do have alternative plans.

They will meet Friday with Dwyane Wade and with Chris Bosh Bosh. They will then meet with Amar’e Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, David Lee and restricted free agent Rudy Gay. Dirk Nowitzki, a former player for Johnson, opted out of his Mavericks contract on Tuesday.

The Nets are confident they will at least be able to sign Stoudemire and Gay.

Memphis would be nuts to let Rudy Gay go.

I must say if they land both of these guys, to go with the core they have and their picks from the draft, they have a nice core getting started!

A team would have to grossly overpay Rudy Gay for Memphis not to match.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think Rudy will go anywhere.

However, if the Nets manage to land Gay and Amar'e, that gives them a damn good core of Gay/Amar'e/Harris/Lopez, plus a good looking rookie in Favors. That's a good looking core for next year and the future in my book.

I think Rudy is gone. Just look at how the Grizzlies drafted.

Solid plan B if the Nets can't close the deal with LeBron James.

What happens with Mayo if Rudy stays? Those two won't work together.
