Vince has really been performing well for us, coming through at clutch time and scoring 25+ per game.. Also, his rebounding hasn't been shabby either. I haven't got a chance to see him yet, but from what I've heard he's doing pretty well.

Well, after the his first game "ow I have a cramp" scare, I think that Vince has played pretty solid for the Nets. He has been rebounding the ball well, and his 3 point percentage and free throw percentages are aslo way up from his Raptor stint this season. As for his shooting, I say pretty much the same as in Toronto, he is still settling for jumpshots when he could be attacking the basket, and thus, he is still shooting a low percent, .419, compared to .411 at Toronto.

What a lot of people need to realize is that he is getting much more shots in Jersey than he was in Toronto, just look at his minutes, a little more than 11 as a Net, that spells more shots, which spells more points.

I still say he has played pretty mediocre so far as a Net, because I know what he is capable of doing playing along side players like Kidd and Jefferson. Hopefullly as more games are played, his FG% improves, and he plays a better all around game. Heck, I don't know if we should be even talking about this yet, he's only played 2 full games as a Net.

It's too early to tell. He's still breaking some Nets set offense to do his thing. He's been playing aggressively, which is all I can ask for, but Jefferson's role has become obscure. In the last game, Jefferson seemed lost which is a cause of the game of being lost. It has become a Jefferson or Carter iso. They should be playing off each other, but that will come in time. Carter is more of the shooting gaurd than Jefferson and Jefferson the better all around player. I am going to save the MJ+Pip comparison and just say they need to find a way to function together and to establish who's the #1 and the #2 and more of a team offense concept.

With that, I'm more comfortable with this team than last year. Perhaps it's less expectations, but the Nets have been scoring from the halfcourt effectively. Maybe that's why Kidd has not performed well because he's used to running, but the new direction of the Nets is better suited, big if on whether Carter stays aggressive and uninjured.

The only glaring problem is the bigman issue and I would hope Rod has something imminent. Of all the Nets rumors, I would prefer PJ Brown the most. He's the ultimate low post role player. He's a very good defender and a workman like rebounder. His offense is polished and can still run. However he does have a long contract and is aging, but for right now he could help tons.

That's a huge problem with Vince, he needs to learn how to play off of other star players, who in this case are Jefferson and Kidd. As a Raptor the only time he would really be shooting the ball was either off a screen for the shot, or on an iso play, which is why I think he is waiting to take all his shots the same way in New Jersey.

IF, Vince can realize that he would be getting much easier shots if he took the #2 option role, and let Jefferson do his thing, he would be more getting open shots, and less double teams.

The thing that scares me when I watch the Nets play lately is that they are almost turning into the Raptors, everyone is lost, and iso's are the plays that are most often used.

I think that the Nets have to agree on who is the #1 option and start from there, that will allow the coaches to make plays based on that, getting other players involved more, and creating more comradary (sp?) on the team, because everyone is on the same page.

The nets never had #1 options. I read some where a comment made by either Coach Frank or Kidd that said that the Nets never has a #1, #2, option, they simply would pass to who ever was open or in a better position to make a play. Nets have run the motion offense in the last three years, and from what I have seen it involves every player on offense. It is perfected by a point guard that is cognizant of where a man might be open for an easy basket or where a man might be in position to make a play. When Kidd was out, Jefferson was the guy who had to take this role somewhat; it had nothing to do with number 1 options or anything.

I am also extremely happy he became a New Jersey Net because the trio of Kidd, Jefferson, and Carter will dominate.

I agree but they haven't been playing that way for the past few games. Instead, they've been playing iso games. Jefferson's penetration has really fallen since the arrival of Carter. Anyone who's seen Jefferson is that his offense comes off of dribble drives and finding either open men or getting to the line. Due to the obscurity that Carter has brought, Jefferson has been limited. I am not angry cause it takes ease off of Jefferson but something eventually will need to be done and the offense is going to have to run smoother.

You must also keep in mind that the past few games jefferson has been fatigued. After his 42 point, than the first game with Carter that went overtime he was excausted, so the Nets have not had him do too strenuos of work.

Don't give me this fatigued crap. These are professional athletes, they are supposed to be in such good shape that they could play every second day. The bottom line is the Nets need to get their offense going again, and to be honest I don't think that can happen until they have figured out who is going to play what role. There are just too many jumpshots being taken the last few games. We all know Kidd is the floor general, but who is going to the be slasher, and who is going to be the shooter? That has yet to be determined I'd say. A large part of what the Nets have been doing since the trade is run iso's which takes away from the slashing game, which lessen's Kidd's ability to use his passing skill to full affect. Carter shouldn't be trying to handle the ball very often, along with RJ, that is Kidd's job. There would be so many easy baskets if both Carter and RJ slashed to the bucket more often, and penetrated when getting the ball on the outside.
