Nets handled Houston right

The news was surprising, but then again wasn't.</p>

The subject line read Houston ends comeback with the Knicks. The first sentence of the release said, "New York Knickerbockers guard Allan Houston has decided to end his comeback with the team." This may very well be true, but my guess is the Knicks ended Houston's comeback.</p>

<span face="Arial">They have a point guard problem right now with Jason Kidd and Marcus Williams hurt so they really need Darrell Armstrong and they have no intentions of cutting Malik Allen, who is on a make-good deal and very well may be the Nets' first big off the bench if not starting depending on Nenad Krstic's status. </span></p>

<span face="Arial">If the Nets trade or buy out Mile Ilic maybe Houston gets a shot. But I'm not sure if he wants one anymore or if the Nets have the same interest in him. The last I heard about Ilic is no buy out at this time and no interest in him around the league.</div>

Allan Houston has made himself into this situation, when the Nets and Kidd wanted him deseperately, he thought he is just a great player, and didn't want to decide to join the Nets.</p>

Later, the Nets signed Darrell Armstrong, he has no shot to make this team, so he must decide to join the knicks, right now, Knicks don't want him, too.</p>

This is your bad decision, AH20.</p>

If true, the Nets got themselves out of a bad situation. If even the Knicks can't play Houston (I don't know their roster issues, if any), then he likely wouldn't have done much here.</p>

I'm glad he was at the hospital with his wife and their newborn like he should be first and foremost and put off a decision to basically force this outcome from Isiah because this whole story is just unneccesary to being with. Yes it probably burns him deep down he may not get the chance to show what he's got left but if he continues to pursue this then he's being completely selfish. At this point as his body is where he can enjoy his time with his family and be there with his wife when she needs him and he shouldn't jeopardize that just to handle some unfinished business in his eyes.</p>
