What has the NBA's attention was the second workout and the success he had against the lottery candidate Raymond Felton. I like this gamble by Rod Thorn and the front office. I think it is much more solid a option then trying to move up in this year's draft to take an NBA unproven point guard in the lottery. I know when you are talking about recoving from such a near fatal type of accident, you have to think about Bob Hurley(who's story is pretty similar to that of Williams). How Hurley's body recovered for the most part. But he never recovered mentally, therefore it took away the rest of his NBA career basically. But I still like the risk with J Will. We can bring him back into it slowly, of course because we have Kidd. But also because a guy like Vaughn can take pressure off of throwing Williams back into the fire so quickly, with Vaughn being under contract for next season, it can be a trial & error year for Jay Williams.
I remember reading last summer that he was playing in a summer Pro league on the Jersey shore. So despite no being in the NBA for the last couple of seasons, he has been playing. And keeping in shape....
