Nets Looking to Deal M. Williams

Farmar was great earlier on in the season, but his play dropped off tremendously after the Allstar break. I don't know what's gotten into him, but he has gone from the best player off the bench to scrub status. Maybe it's the lack of motivation, maybe he's just tired, nobody knows. As for the Marcus Williams for Jordan Farmar swap, well, they are both relatively the same age (Farmar is one year younger), so it is something I would consider as a Laker fan. But to be honest here, this is only Marcus's second season in the league (same with Farmar). I think fans of both franchises need to calm down and realize that they are still both very young and inexperienced players who will need time to grow. Their play may be piss poor currently, but that doesn't mean you should just give them away. I'm sure we all know what our point guards are capable of when they are playing at full potential. You just have to give them some time

And for the record, I don't see what's wrong with rooting for more than one team. I'm also a Philadelphia 76ers fan as well, and nobody has ever given me any heat for that.

As can KC, and treating you like a non-Net fan is what KC will do.

Go ahead. You and Jigga can create a club for all I care.

Then don't complain, hoss!

When a player degresses and shows absolutely no sign of improvment, it gives no hope. Farmar at least has shown something.

I wouldn't want to give Marcus away. Maybe use him to move up in the draft but other than that, we won't be ripping anyone off and we won't be giving him away.

I saw one more year with him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Marcus Williams put together a run of great games during his rookie season?

I'd rather have an empty roster spot to sign an undrafted free agent than have Marcus Williams.

No, dude, just no. Lakers can keep Farmar.

@ this. Silly Mavericks fans.

Go ahead and explain to me why the Nets should trade for Farmar.

And honestly, it's getting annoying being treated like a non-Nets fan.

Being a fan of Jason Kidd doesn't mean you can't be a Nets fan...to many idiots on this board.

Me too. Marcus Williams is a completely useless player.

Salim Stoudemire and a 2nd round pic!

The Wolves are desperately looking for a pg. Anyone on the Wolves Nets fans would want in a realistic trade for Marcus? How would he be under a strict coach like Randy Wittman. If what you say is true (the Marcus rumor), and the Wolves don't manage to grab Rose, I'll bet they go after Marcus fairly agressively.

it'd cost ya Smith and Marvin.

Eh. Marcus could potentially be a good player. I think he needs a coach that could really control him and whip his ass into shape...but who knows, maybe he just can't cut it in the NBA.

I don't know much about Wittman, but it's possible he could work out. It'd be interesting to see Marcus under Sloan or Theus.

3 future 1sts.

Mike Bibby is pretty much what Marcus Williams could become. Why would you want him?

Mike Bibby is a free agent next summer. Marcus Williams could be someone that Acie Law could battle with. It'll make them both better.

That makes three of us. I don't want to see such a not even one-dimensional but half-dimensional player like Marcus Whiniams in Nets uniform. Let him prove that all the world is evil and he is an angel on some other team.

Why do you want to throw him away so badly? He was a serviceable shooter. He hasn't lived up to his potential, but he hasn't been completely useless.

He'd be benched 3 minutes in the game after throwing the ball into the stands during two offensive possessions in a row. Guaranteed.

I'd trade Marcus to Minny for one of those 2nd round picks. That 31st pick is VERY valuable.

Aw come on cpaw, he's not that bad. He's a streaky shoot-first PG with range to 3 pt line, quick, can make very nice passes, [tries to] play under control, relatively bad on D. Sounds a lot like Bibby, although a lot less refined and polished. Different attitude as well.

I don't think they should throw him under the bus just yet. Without Kidd here Williams may start feeling free enough to stop being a bonehead. At this point, I'd say he's very low risk/high reward type of player. Look at it: he IS young, he IS talented, he does have good b-ball IQ, he makes $1.2M in the last year of the contract. That's worth more than a 2nd round draft pick.

Rose. Just 'cause I know somebody is going to say it.

did you just call Marcus Williams quick? The only time he's quick is when he's around one of these.
