"After getting a two-month respite from Dwight Howard rumors after the All-Star center opted into the final year of his Magic contract in the hours leading up to the March 15 trade deadline, the rumor mill has already begun to churn once again regarding his eventual departure from Orlando.
And while the Nets continue to remain one of the teams that Howard would like to play for, the clock may be ticking on their window to acquire the world's best center. In fact, if Howard isn't a Net by July 11 – the first day teams can sign players to contracts this summer – he may never make it here.
Since their season ended with a first-round playoff loss to the Pacers, the Magic have repeatedly said that they have no interest in going through the "Dwightmare" that enveloped the franchise this past season, as they constantly had to deal with rumors of Howard wanting to stay in Orlando one day being followed by wishes to take the next flight out of town the next."
