BTW, how fucked up must the situation in Utah be to lose their HOF coach and All NBA PG in a period of two weeks?

Sloan quitting was the canary in the coalmine. Utah's management was proactive. I applaud them for making a bold move. I bet they were getting the feeling that Williams wasn't going to stay in Deseret.

Honestly, I have no idea how Cho lost this Harris deal. His inaction forced New Jersey to go to Utah in desperation.

a lot of utah fans had soured on deron. him talking about leaving in 2012 hasn't helped. the utah reaction to this trade isn't all negative.

I wonder what Deron is feeling right now.

He's probably thrilled. The Jazz were in a tailspin and he's moving to the biggest media market in the country with an owner willing to spend. When they move to Brooklyn, they're going to raise their profile dramatically. With a core of Lopez and Williams, there will be a LOT of players that will wish to join them.

It's Devin Harris and Derrick Favors that are bummed right now. You're obviously a Nyets fan, so why are you excited?

Utah, what happened? Such a stable franchise for so long. This is shocking. And I LOVE IT! I have NO PROBLEM keeping 'Dre. It's not like Harris would be the big piece to us winning long term. In fact, the way the NBA is headed, we'll never be able to win a championship. So really, I'm just going to enjoy the moment. The future is irrelevant for 80% of the NBA now.

It's not the Harris deal, it's a combination of every missed deal. Then to hear we will stand pat...I realize it's Quick...To get nothing out of yet another expiring contract is how teams become constant also rans

He's going to kill him with alley oops and pick and rolls.

Will be interesting to see. I did not get the feel that Lopez had the good hands that Boozer had for lethal pick and roll, he seems to me like more of a low-post player in the Al Jefferson mold - which did not work all that great with Deron - but I have not seen enough of him to really say it with conviction.

You know who has fantastic hands for motion offense? LaMarcus Aldridge.

It will be interesting to see however.

Nets fans must be stoked if they think they can keep him.

A crazy thought: Miller and Joel for Harris and one of the Jizz' ugly contracts. Dre played his college ball in SLC.

It would have to be two separate deals.

It's funny. People like you spit at Quick when you don't agree with his "rumors", but you seem to accept them when they support your opinions. Even if we end up staying pat, you will have no idea whether or not Cho explored further trade options.

What possible deal has Cho passed on that makes the Blazers a stronger franchise overall?

Props to NJ! This is a much bigger gain than NY got! They are now set at PG and C, the two hardest positions to fill in the NBA. They will be able to get compentent wings, all they need is another big man and that team will be looking at HCA.

That would be a decent deal for us. But Utah's management hates us. I don't they'd oblige.

Utah fans seem even more delusional than Portland fans. They now have 3 non-elite PFs (Favors may get there someday, but not now) and downgraded at PG.

I wish the Blazers had received Deron Williams so I could "sour" on him.

If Utah will trade with Portland, I'd explore poaching away Millsap.

Excellent point. I stand corrected. Repped.

I really do think that handcuffing them with Milsap's deal and then taking Wes precipitated the rebuilding of that franchise.

Not people like me. I jokingly say Quick knows nothing because some people in here claim that. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Quick, he is closer to the team than most.
